“Lovely cottage right on the harbour front. Very useful parking permit, that we used right outside the cottage. Comfortable mattresses.
We found the main oven didn't work.
Overall a fantastic place to stay if the harbour area is preferred.”
“Communication was clear and timely and the mid-stay cleaning options were ace. Everything went smoothly and the cottage itself was just what we had hoped for (if not more so!). A thoroughly enjoyable break and we wouldn’t hesitate to use Sykes again.”
“The property was clean and tidy, welcome pack and plenty of crockery, mugs, pans etc. Settees looked new and were very comfy as were the beds. Only complaint was deep step from french windows to patio.”

The booking calendar clearly shows our dates available and confirmation of our booking.We were then informed that the cottage residents will now book only Friday to Friday. This is not a viable start date for us. Cancelling this booking is proving impossible
Two days later the booking still shows the non viable dates and the threat of paying a deposit which we will not be paying.It is a great shame that this spoils a great reputation”

“This is our third at magpie cottage loads of of roam three large bedrooms all ensuite upstairs baths more suited to children very large downstairs shower all way very clean milk in fridge flowers on table welcome pack on arrival one very small thing this time out side light on front wasnt working made it harder to access key lock safe not an issue booked again for 2026”
“My family and I stayed at the log cabin for 5 nights me my wife and 2 boys. Was a bit hard to find but found it in the end. The cabin is a lovely little place just big enough for us all really cosy well presented and everything thing you need inside. Set in the back garden of the owners house but it didn't feel like it as we had the run of the garden and the boys enjoyed it. The owners are lovely people and very helpful. The owners have 2 vintage cars and he let my boys sit in them and even let them start one of them which my boys loved. The village is just over a mile away lovely little place with a garage that sells all you need for your stay and the cheapest fuel ever seen. Great little chippy and 2 pubs with great food.
To visit places the lodge is placed about a hour away from places to see and do the owners gave us hints where is best to visit. We all had a great time at the log cabin.”
