“Lovely converted barn, very spacious bedrooms and living area.
Surrounding are beautiful and being woken to the sound of sheep was so much better than an alarm clock.
Recommend this property as a good base to explore or to just relax.”

“A great company, we’ve always found some good cottages/ lodges to stay at. Good clear descriptions, especially when trying to find somewhere that is disabled friendly. Reasonably priced compared to other companies and can do varying amount of stays.”

“A really lovely cottage and everyone was so friendly, helpful and welcoming - and it was such a treat meeting Skye and the sheep 😃. It was a great location to explore too - so close to Bakewell with both Haddon Hall and Chatsworth close by. Definitely one we'd recommend and hope to return to!”
“A truly amazing week spent in the Barn at Hill House. The views from the garden are amazing and it was so peaceful and quiet throughout the whole stay. The secure garden is perfect for dogs and is a very large space. The inside was perfect for what we needed, very cozy and had all the amenities required. Lynne left a lovely basket with homemade brownies and bread, as well as some goodies for the dogs. It is not mentioned on the listing but there are two small fridges and one freezer, which was plenty of room for our big food delivery. Overall it was a great week stay and we I’ll definitely be back.”
“I have used Sykes for many years. There are plenty of cottages to chose from and a large number of areas seaside town, countryside whatever you wish. I have never had any problems.”
“We were very happy with Church View Cottage itself, and the village of Rye certainly lives up to it's reputation of being very special. We were, though, disappointed that during our stay the cottage next door was under construction. We were awakened early every morning with banging, drilling and coming and going of vehicles, which continued during the days. Hard to imagine the owners were unaware that this would be going on. The walls are thin in these old cottages. Not a restful four days. (And not inexpensive! And I'm sure the next tenants will have a similar experience) We would have taken a different cottage if we'd known, of course. I did write about this in the review we sent upon departure, but have had no response. At the very least an apology might have been expected, if not some recompense. It was a rather special holiday visit to the UK from Canada as my ancestors are from E Sussex.”
“I would definitely use Sykes Cottages again. There are a good range of properties and many options for personal choice with prices etc.
Communication through email is good, helpful and precise.”
