“Well you did ask! The actual service was good, by the standards of the day. The product, I would rate as poor. The boards are warping across theri width and along their length, which makes them less than stable. The banding has been very poorly applied. The metal strips do not fit close to the ends of the boards, leaving potentially hazardous "loops" of metal in which to catch fingers. The finish of the wood is also poor, needing some basicsanding to remove dangerous splinters. Well, you did ask! Paul Dearling.”

Thank you for your comments Paul. We are sorry you were disappointed as we do take customer satisfaction seriously - we can only assume this could have something to do with the high temperatures we have had recently if they have been stored outside.

Sorry you were not happy with the delivery charge, I have checked your order which was 10kgs of scaffold fittings, these were sent on next day delivery at a charge of £ 16.00 plus VAT We only use next day couriers, and £ 16.00 for 10kg is not extortionate in our opinion Hope to see you back in the future

Paul, sorry you didn't go ahead with your new order, we do show at checkout stage that you can contact the office for a cheaper delivery rate option, this may be as we have a truck passing or we can send on a 2/3 day service instead of next day. The next day delivery rate is calculated on the weight of the order, with scaffold fittings the weight will be high, hence the higher delivery charge. We may have been able to reduce the delivery charge if you had contacted us.Thanks.

“The sign frame arrived here in quite bad shape .... twisted bent and split, as it was poorly packed, but we managed to bash it back into reasonable shape, and did a bit of welding”

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. I am sorry that your parcel was received in an unfit state. We send out Sign Frames on an almost daily basis, however, usually in 2's or 3's which would make the package more robust. I can only assume that this was damaged in transit, something which we will take up with our courier. Also, now that you have brought this to out attention, we will look at alternative packaging options to prevent this from happening again. Had you let us know that the item was received damaged, we would have replaced this free of charge for you. “The boards were delivered on time but I was a bit disappointed that they were all soaking wet. I have dried them out as they are for interior shelving, unfortunately I have now discovered that one of the boards has split. I think it'll be ok but overall a little disappointing.”

Sorry to hear you were disappointed with the scaffold boards, these are stored outside and subject to whatever weather conditions we may have, the boards are designed to be used outside so no need to keep them dry. We do point out on the item listing " Please be aware that scaffold boards are for use outside, if used inside or in dry/hot weather conditions they will be subject to splitting etc, if using these for inside project / furniture etc they should be dry stored first to eliminate any cracking/splitting." Hope this explains.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, there has been some delays with stock, not just with ourselves but many other companies worldwide. We do try and keep a healthy stock of all items whenever possible. “The boards we received were quite wet and had split, which wasn't ideal as we are using them for shelving. We have had to wait for them to dry out which has slowed us down and splits are deeper. Communications and delivery were excellent.”

I am dissapointed to hear that you was not entirely satisfied with your purchase. The problem we have with the Scaffold Boards is that they are manufactured for scaffolding purposes, not furntiure. The small splits that you mentioned are acceptable for Scaffolding Boards. With regards to the Scaffold Boards being wet, they are stored outside so, unfortunately, this is unavoidable. “I had to file down one end of the bar in order for the bracket fitting to fit, lots of what appeared to be weld droplets? Pretty annoying Almost as annoying as the delivery note sticker you stick to the bar.. why stick it to the bar, takes an age to remove paper+adhesive”

“Slightly disappointed by the quality of some of the scaffolding poles, some are very rusty with bent pins. Was recommended this company but quality and items could have been a lot better for the money spent.”

Sorry you thought the delivery charge was expensive, £10 plus VAT is our minimum delivery charge for next day delivery using Fedex. We use Fedex as they are far more reliable than any other courier in our experience, the £10 minimum charge covers orders up to 20 kgs. We do hope that this explains the reason behind the cost.
