“A great walk on the Amalfi Peninsular. Despite some unusual weather the walk was very well led by Peter who was able to provide excellent guidance with a group of 12 people with a mix of skills. Having done the Tour Mont Blanc, The Dolomite and Amalfi Hikes with Salamander we are looking forward to our next adventure with them.”

“We had a fabulous time on our adventure. Pete was a great guide and was very thoughtful, knowledgeable, helpful, and made the trip fun and interesting. It was a challenging hike at times and I would recommend regular hiking boots, not day hikers! I would highly recommend this hike and company for this Amalfi adventure!”

“Even though the weather was unusually poor for Amalfi, the trip was still very enjoyable. The route was interesting, rugged at times and probably slightly harder than expected (which was good). The scenery was stunning at all times along the peninsula and accommodation was of a good standard for a trekking holiday. Pete, our guide, was great company and clearly very experienced. I would certainly recommend this trip.”

“A very scenic trek, which we were pleased was more difficult than we had anticipated. The daily distances looked relatively short on paper, but some steep sections and difficult terrain made up for this and merits the grade 3 challenging. Excellent varied accommodation and food throughout, and great guiding by Pete, especially through some atrocious weather on the first couple of days. Frustrating at times due to two very slow (and fairly selfish) group members, but on the whole I'm glad I did it: the scenery is well worth it.”

“I recently completed the Pyrenees Trek with Salamander Adventures. This is a challenging hike and so rewarding. The views were beautiful, we spotted local wildlife and watched as paragliders expertly glided through the air. Peter, our guide, was excellent and made sure everything ran smoothly each day and we were prepared for the next day's adventure. This was my fourth trek with Salamander Adventures. They are very organized and responsive. Well done Salamander!”

“We did a self guided route, but salamander booked all our hotels and they were all good and well organised. The Dolomites traverse route itself was excellent and its variety of landscapes and attempts to avoid the worst of the crowds.”

“Amazing adventure. Very good decision of Salamander’s to go clockwise rather than the traditional way. Don’t see the same people twice and the hardest 2 stages are at the end and so time to acquire your mountain legs. We did a Self guided trip with good quality accommodation and food. Recommend them.”

“I completed TMB using Salamander guided tour. It was the best decision. The trip was well organized and the accommodations were better than expected (no refuggios or dorms). We are hikers who usually get lost so having a guide made it so much easier. Each evening our guide had a chat with us, outlining what to expect for the next day including terrain and distances which was so helpful. We had a great group of hikers and had such a memorable time with them. I'd like to thank your guide, Neil for eloquently answering all of our questions.”

“A beautiful trek. Superb scenery and wildlife. Expertly guided. Fairly challenging but we still had time to appreciate the views and watch the wildlife. One of the best European walking holidays I've been on (and I've been on a lot).”

“The Salamander Pyrenees Traverse was a wonderful opportunity to experience this magnificent landscape, in the company of a friendly and enthusiastic group and our super guide, Peter. We had long days immersed in the wonders of this amazing glaciated region. The daytime weather was perfect for us walkers. Loved the picnics with local cheeses etc. This was my first walking trip post Covid 19 and I was thrilled with it. A big “thank you“ to Salamander Adventures.”

“Just completed the Pyrenees trip which is a great hike which is difficult in places. you need to be fit to complete this albeit well the effort. It is tougher than TMB. Superb group of fellow hikers and an excellent guide. Salamander you have excelled again - thank you for putting together another great adventure.”

“I had a great trip with Salamander Adventures. I had a lot of questions before the trip, and Phil answered them promptly and thoroughly every time. Overall, it was an amazing trip that I would love to do again. The trip was filled with challenges, but Phil made sure we were well taken care of. The accommodations were charming and clean, the lunches provided by the guide were delicious which always included freshly baked bread for sandwiches, and the route took into consideration all levels of hikers. The group spread out based on ability, some fast and some slow. We had changes in guides along the way and one was better at keeping us all together than the other. The last guide on our trip was great about setting a reasonable pace and making stops for pictures and snacks. All guides were good about letting us know what to expect each day, what to carry in our packs, and how far until we could refill our water. I would book with Salamander again. It was my first long-distance hike and I felt well taken care of by them. This was one of the most beautiful places I’ve been, and I look forward to going back!”

“This summer, we have had a great self-guided TMB with Salamander. Originally, we planned this trip in 2021 but Salamander allowed us to postpone to 2022 due to the Covid pandemic. Salamander organized perfect hotels and food. When we arrived at the next point, a hotel was available right away and had a great dinner. And Salamander planned the distance to be covered for the day very well. A few of our group were slow hikers, but we were always able to arrive at the next point in time. The most important thing…, before TMB, we had a lot of questions, but Salamander, especially Philip, immediately responded to my questions. I was able to get an answer by the next morning when I sent an email at night because of time difference between Europe and USA. Finally, if you are planning on TMB, we highly recommend Salamander Adventures.”

“This was the trip of a lifetime! The schedule, accommodations, meals and communications from Salamander for our guided TMB were perfect. We really enjoyed the balance between having our luggage and carrying what was needed in our packs. Our trip had some guide changes (due to illness) and we actually ended up having three different guides. Pete, Neil and Chris were all absolutely amazing and the work done by Phil to make our trip seamless was above and beyond. What we experienced on this trek we will remember the rest of our lives. There is no doubt we will be booking another trek with Salamander Adventures!”

“I had an amazing self-guided experience with Salamander Adventures. The itinerary that they provided was wonderful with variants depending on weather conditions and endurance. They accommodations were eclectic from refuges to hotels. The food was consistently amazing. Finally, and most importantly, Salamander immediately responded to any questions or concerns I had. I highly recommend using Salamander as your TMB tour company.”

“Originally booked before Covid, Salamander were great and helped us negotiate the way to allow us to eventually do the TDM two year later. On arrival at the hotel our guide Olie was on hand to introduce the group that would turn from strangers to hiking compnions then into friends. The group was of mixed ages ranging from 15 to 63. We all get on great and no one felt on their own or left behind largely due to our guide and the friendly way Salamander had dealt with people during the booking and preparation process. What ever your ability with the right people with you you can do this fantastic journey and enjoy the experience. Make sure you do some good preparation before hand it will make the trip more enjoyable.”
