“I did the TMB guided trek in early July and it was an unforgettable experience. The scenery was stunning —snow capped mountains, lush green meadows, wildflowers, rivers, alpine lakes with mirror-like reflections, and the sound of cowbells all around to keep us company. Our guide, Alfonso, was exceptional: knowledgeable, supportive, and incredibly thoughtful. He motivated me through tough descents, helped with my luggage when I was struggling with elbow pain, and even arranged special lunches for my diet needs. His encouragement made a huge difference. The trek is challenging with steep ascents and descents, especially some portions with rocky terrain but the sense of accomplishment each day is priceless. Overall great food, excellent hotels, and efficient communication through emails by Salamander adventures company — highly recommended! A couple of suggestions would be: Two guides would be better than one and though a celebratory wine was good at the end, a medal or certificate to each finisher would be a great souvenir to cherish. Overall, an excellent company that cares and I look forward to doing more treks with them in future.”

“It was a great hiking experience despite a bit challenging for an out of shape 71 year old man. The route was well planned and the guide was excellent. The accommodation and food were as good as it could be. Definitely value for the money.”

“This trip was amazing! Our guide, Anna, was incredibly knowledge but also spent time to get to know all of us, which helped her tailor the trip to different personalities and fitness levels. Salamander also had great hotels and was very transparent about what we would need and what the trip would be like. Salamander and Anna made our TMB experience perfect. Would recommend 100%.”

“Tour du Mont Blanc self guided. Our TMB adventure was a long time in the making, but with family commitments it never seemed the right time. So when we started to look for doing the trek this year Salamander was one of the first companies we contacted and then contacted no more as Phil was that rare blend of friendly and professional and as he has done the TMB also knowledgeable. Leading up to the trek all arrangements were smooth and any queries we had were quickly answered. What can we say about the trek? It was the best travel experience we have ever had. From airport pick up to baggage delivery all arrangements were smooth. The accommodation was simply brilliant. We were so impressed with the variety of thoughtfully chosen hotels and auberge. All of which were welcoming, comfortable and clean and the more luxurious accommodations were well placed after long mountain days. (We chose to make some of the days longer). Particularly liked the outdoor pool on our penultimate night. The food played a very important role in our TMB and it was excellent. All places provided nutritious and tasty regional food, all homemade and ideally suited for those who have spent a long day on the mountains. The route notes provided by Salamander were well detailed and as recommended we also bought the maps to support our trek. As navigation was straight forward. We would highly recommend Salamander. Our experience was exceptional.”

“I trecked the Tour of Mont Blanc in July and had a fabulous time. Our guide Alfonso was brillaint: very helpful and knowledgeable, and he made sure everyone was at ease and getting the most out of each day. He went the extra mile, even providing fabulous picnics with fresh local produce. The hotels were excellent with a lovely atmosphere and great food. The guidance notes supplied by Salamander were very clear and you do need to know that you are able to keep up with the fitness level required. There is very little flat walking - it is mostly either steep up or steep down! Communications and the booking process with Salamnader were all first class.”

“My husband and I recently hiked Tour du Mont Blanc with Salamander and had a fantastic time. It was a challenge however the communication adnvance information on what to expect was right on. Our guide, Alfonso, was fantastic. He knew the route, had great information on what to expect each day, what the weather may have in store, features of the mountain and the surrounding peaks and much more. This was a trip of a lifetime. The scenery was amazing and all the food and accomodations were great. We would do it again in a heart beat. Thanks!”

“I recently completed the Dolomites Guided Trek and it exceeded every expectation. The trek was amazing and the daily hikes were both beautiful and rewarding. Staying in mountain rifugios and small inns with great food and camaraderie each evening was a highlight for me. Stiina, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and supportive. I came home feeling inspired, recharged, and grateful for the many new friends I made.”

“This is my second time joining a trek with Salamander Adventures, and this time we did the Dolomites Traverse. Once again, I was truly impressed by the thoughtful arrangements and seamless organization. Special thanks to Stiina, our amazing guide — knowledgeable, caring, and always full of positive energy. She led the group with calm confidence, kept our spirits high even during challenging climbs, and made everyone feel safe and supported. Her deep knowledge of the region, combined with her warm and engaging personality, truly elevated the entire experience. She had a wonderful way of connecting with everyone in the group, creating a strong sense of team spirit and fun from day one. “I went to TMB guided hike with Salamander Adventures in September of this year. The trek itself is so beautiful and as described (level 3) in the description. The hotels and refuges were a amazing with breathtaking views and the food was delicious (also took care of my food restrictions). Our guide, Denis, was very knowledgeable of the trails. He always made sure the group was together and checked on everyone time to time. He was there to answer any questions we had and made our experience even better! I alreadyhave booked another tour with Salamander again and looking forward to it!”

“This was our third trip with Salamander and, once again, it did not disappoint. Views and vistas that were amazing. It was a perfect blend of huttes and hotels which were all fantastic. Nigel, another great Salamander guide, was professional and entertaining. Phil and his team have done it again!”

“Hi Phil, A very enjoyable walking holiday through a variety of stunning scenery led by a highly competent and friendly guide. Accommodation and food excellent throughout. I know you have already made the suggested changes to accommodation at Feldkirch. Having completed two long treks in Nepal and then TMB, Dolomites and Austria with Salamander, I think my long treks days with hut accommodation maybe coming to an end as I am 75 next year, but one never says never! All the best Chris Peach”
