My in country co-ordinators have always been lovely and very attentive, and ready to help if I messaged them. In the UK office, Hannah, who was my co-ordinator was fantastic, super friendly and went above and beyond her duties to help me, and stay in contact.

Coming to a new city in a new country is always hard, but the Costa Rican team from RealGap were amazing! They were super friendly and helpful in getting me orientated and sending me on my way to the project quickly, smoothly and with a smile on my face.

It's a great stress free way to travel and meet new people similar to you! Since all of your accommodation and travel is already payed for and you have a 24 hour guide specifically to your group travelling seems so simple. The tour guides used in Thailand are locals so you get a proper taste of Thailand, they know exactly where to go and can help you with literally anything you need.

I got to experience new countries and cultures but also had all the freedom of travelling alone. I just had to turn up to be taken to other destinations, the rest was up to me

The trip is amazing and one I will never forget... The Garden Route was something special. A few tips for anyone looking to go:- When booking your trip ask how many people are participating in the same programme. I was a little disappointed to learn that only two others were doing the Garden Route - although I was lucky because they were the best of fun! On the Garden Route there is a stop off called Oudtshoorn (last stop before Cape Town). I would suggest trying to arrange to go directly to Cape Town as nothing exciting is here apart from a really nice restaurant in the evening. Cape Town - SPEND MORE TIME HERE! The accommodation here was brilliant! Get straight up Table Mountain and head to Camps Bay - there is a bar/restaurant called Cafe caprice (you must book) but its really lively and a great hang out spot to enjoy some drinks. For anyone who does enjoy an alcohol beverage - the first week is an alcohol free zone.

The volunteering project was amazing. However the information beforehand was not very up to date.

It gives you the chance to travel somewhere on your own and feel really proud of yourself. India is somewhere I've always wanted to go and I'm so happy I was able to go on my own and have an inside look into the culture.

The Bali Tour really was a great experience. The 8 days are packed off amazing activities. The people on the tour were great, the age of the group was between 18 and 49. My favourite activity was the snorkeling. I have never done that before, but now I am sure I'll have todo that again. Bali is just breathtaking. With the tour you can see a lot of things in 8 days, perfect for people that do not have more time.

I worked with pandas. That was the end goal, getting there and booking could have been a lot easier and simpler. But I got to work with pandas

I was lucky enough to travel to South Africa to do the horseback conservation programme. In this time I saw rhino, zebra, various species of antelope and birds. The journey over was as smooth as could be when travelling alone and being picked up from the airport was a massive bonus!! The people are some of the nicest people I've ever met and were incredibly welcoming and had amazing local knowledge and make you feel like one of the clan in no time at all :)

Can be done far cheaper by sorting things out yourself, but if you're looking for convenience it was great! The Spanish teaching was fantastic. My home stay family didn't speak any English but that made it even better for the learning, totally immersive. Bags of free time to do anything else you like in the area.

The overall experience was good but i was very disappointed with the accommodation offered. The bungallow was 10m from the beach but that was the only good thing about it. It was old, sheets had holes in them and seemed overused..no colour left in them. There were a lot of ants so i had to buy a bug spray to kill them. It only had a fan, no aircon. There was a small private bathroom with cold water only. No perimeter for the shower either so the water would go everywhere. Toilet seat was disgusting and had to cover it. The mosquito bed net was in a horrible state and i didn't dare to touch it. I would have rather not have it at all. Windows had nets so that stopped mosquitos from coming in. Wifi was barely working. You could get aircon, brand new bungallows with 1k baht a night and it would have been cheaper to pay for everything separately. The scuba shop was amazing on the other hand which made my experience better. Dealing with the staff at Realgap was a pleasure. I would definitely choose RealGap for another trip but I'll have to double check on the accommodation, that wasn't very pleasant.
