“I feel that this works great for text messages and calls, however feel that the next development would be tracking app and many youngsters now are using apps to communicate rather than text and calls. I like the fact that data can be turned off and that you are able to hear the calls between people also. Overall it is working well, however would like to see more development around app tracking partciularly around snapchat”

“I researched smart phones for my eldest son who's 11 and just started secondary school. You hear the horrors and damage phones can have on children's lives so wasn't 100% sur either was the right thing to do, however, thought open and honest conversations and education would be a better way of handling. After a lot of online research about the best way to handle this, I came across Paretb Shield. It seemed like a great solution and allows monitoring of phone use, the ability to set limits and a host of other things. Nearly all of these systems can be circumvented I'm sure bit Parebt Shield seemed the most secure. It will also allow trust to be built up which will unlock further use of the phone in a time scale thats appropriate for him. Combining this with the phones parental controls, and other parental control software, gives assurances that I can review and manage the phones use. Parent Shield themselves have been really helpful, very proactive and offered sound advice. They are quick to respond and happy to help where ever they can. I would thoroughly recommend them if you're looking at getting your child their first phone.”

“Very easy process to get set up and very much a plug and play system for using the app/web access. My only issue (and I don’t think any other provider would provide a better solution) is that you can’t see any iMessage’s and as my daughter and 99% of her friends and contact have iPhones you can’t see these messages through Parentshield which unfortunately makes the message functionally redundant for us. All features that you can use work really well - so apart from this one functionality issues, it’s great.”

“We signed up for our daughter’s Christmas, I was apprehensive about her having a phone for the first time, having been in the police for almost 20 years I’m well aware of online risks. ParentShield has been more than amazing. Peace of mind, easy to use and everything is at hand to make you confident your child is safe on their phone. Would recommend highly to anyone venturing in to the world of mobile phones and children.”

“With the trends and risk involved in using phones, its a welcome development, to further protect our children from exposures.The features of the line shutting down at a given time is very impressive. Unfortunately, the children are more advanced in using the Internet than the parents. Additional efforts is still needed, to keep this kids out of harm ( I still manually take the phones away from them blc it can still access the WiFi.”

“I wanted to wait a while before I wrote a review because I wanted to be sure I was happy with it. I can safely say that this was the best decision I made. I have extreme anxiety when it comes to my sons safety and I was really worried about this next stage in his life and ParentSheild have made it really easy for me to give my son the freedom he needs while still having control. It was super easy to set up, it worked straight away and it's simple to use. I have recommended their services to everyone that I know with kids!”

“I've been with ParentShield with a few weeks now and find it really helpful to be sure my kids are safe from predators, bullies, etc. The platform is quite easy to navigate and use. A bit on the pricy side but I couldn't find a cheaper solution. All in all good service.”

“I was very nervous as a parent about my son's first mobile phone, he has just turned 8 and I wanted to strike a balance between his independence and protecting his digital safety. Although we use parental controls with Microsoft, Google and Apple how do I protect my child from phone calls and text messages? Thankfully it didn't take much time searching online to find ParentShield. I took my time reading through the website and reviews and it met all my requirements as a parent. It was so easy to set up, and the portal is simple to use. I love the ultra-safe mode where rather than managing a black (block) list I auto-block everything and use a white (allow) list. The people behind the service are brilliant. When ordering my SIM it had been 32 days since I'd received any post from Royal Mail, so I automatically opted to pay extra for special delivery (the next day before 1 pm). Royal Mail let us down, not only did it not arrive, Royal Mail refused to acknowledge that the package even existed! The staff at ParentShield were brilliant, they sent out the SIM package 3 times in the end! Twice via Royal Mail Special Delivery and once via Yodel (it was the Yodel one that arrived and Royal Mail turned up over a week late!). ParentShield only charged once for delivery and provided first-class customer service. Additionally, once I had set everything up I got an email checking in with me, making sure everything was ok and to contact them if I need any help going forward. Putting aside stress with getting the SIM to me (Royal Mail's fault!) I've had a brilliant experience with ParentShield - the service gives me peace of mind and the customer support is first-class.”

“This is a first mobile phone for my 12 year old daughter. I have complete peace of mind and security knowing that she can slowly start to develop independence and these days now "fit in" as she finally has a phone! The plan is great! She has adequate SMS and voice minutes without any mobile data again giving me reassurance that she isn't viewing anything inappropriate. The customer service which I have received from the outset has been second to none! Paul has been highly attentive and has answered ever question I have asked. I would absolutely recommend Parent Shield to other parents!”

“We bought the app as our daughter started high school..and it definitely gave us peace of mind. What really stood out for us was the customer service. All questions were picked up and resolved. No small print no tricks no long term contracts no tie ins, highly recommend if your still not sure of a sim for your child.”

“I am very satisfied with this service, especially that my child’s phone is covered by the 4 major networks. For those parents who feel that this is spying on their kids - IT IS! However, my 11 year old has been informed that I and her dad have access to all her calls and messages, and we have explained that we do not use the term spying, we are keeping her safe! We know what to look out for in order to do that, even at the age of 11 she does not.”

“We used Parentshield for our daughter and it was brilliant as she started using a mobile phone and learnt how to navigate the various pitfalls and difficulties. Now that she's older she's able to go it alone, but we've just started up a new account for our son as he takes those next steps. We recommend it to anyone who is trying to look after their children starting out with mobile phones!”
