I strongly advise prospective clients to proceed with caution when dealing with this company. ​Initially, I found their services straightforward and the staff friendly. However, there is a massive catch if you live in Northern Ireland: paying off an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) early will not help your chances of securing a mortgage here. While it may help in Great Britain, the rules differ here, and in hindsight, bankruptcy might have been a more practical option. ​My real issues began after I successfully completed my IVA early. I needed a simple piece of information regarding one of my lenders, but getting in touch with the company proved impossible. For months, I called at various times of the day and on different days of the week, leaving countless messages. ​During this process, I discovered that their phone lines are entirely outsourced. Even though the operators answer as "Get Help with Debt / CD Fairfield Capital," they are just a message-taking service. One handler even admitted to me that they were simply passing messages along and that CD Fairfield "was definitely getting them." Despite this, no one ever called me back. ​Frustrated by the radio silence, I escalated the issue to the Financial Ombudsman Service. While they explained they weren't the correct agency for this specific insolvency matter, they kindly agreed to contact the company on my behalf. This successfully started the official 8-week clock to prove I was being ignored. ​When the 8 weeks elapsed with zero response, the Ombudsman opened a formal investigation. More than four weeks after that—a full five months since my initial attempt to contact them—I finally received a curt message containing the simple answer I had been looking for. Unbelievably, it was accompanied by a patronizing note telling me I "should have contacted the Insolvency Service, not the Ombudsman." ​If the company actually answered their phones or responded to customer messages, I wouldn't have had to guess which agency to turn to. ​It is a total joke that a company completely cuts off communication the moment they have your money. I previously gave them a 5-star review while setting up my IVA, but their appalling post-completion customer service has completely ruined that trust. Think twice before using them.
