Hi Terry, Thank you for your feedback, at HBS we are always looking at greener, cleaner methods to reduce environmental impact. Sadly when it comes to food contact packaging the choice is very limited, food packaging need to meet a specific criteria to achieve food safety standards, maximum shelf life, freshness, and protection in transit. Recycled materials can contaminate products, the absorbent properties of paper and card packaging does not work with oily and moist products like fruit and nuts. Wax coated paper packaging appears environmentally friendly, but the sad truth is by having different compounds within the packaging makes it hard to recycle, and ends up in landfill. We are already using fully recyclable pouches, cardboard outer packaging, paper tapes. “The almonds are almost impossible to crack. The shell must be 4-5mm thick. I have never had this problem before. The rest of the nuts are ok.”

Hi Iain, Thank you for your feedback. Almond shells do vary in thickness, this is normally due to variety of almond but also growing conditions which can vary every season. Hi Sylvie, We are sorry to hear your disappointment with the quality of the walnuts supplied. The walnuts in shell we offer are the best money can buy, Californian chandler red diamond, we rarely have any issues or complaints with this product considering the tonnage we sell. All products are regularly quality checked and taste tested, however, I'm sure you can appreciate it's impossible to check every nut - especially nuts in shell. Also, it's worth noting that walnuts in shell are a sessional product, current crop will be last year harvest. This years harvest will not be available until late November, early December, when the walnuts will be at their freshest. Kind regards, The Natural Choice Team

“All goods are in same bags and text so small and blurry was almost impossible to read packaging. Extra sugar added to the dried fruits made them unnecessarily over sweet.”

“Any solid nuts like Brazil or pecan Nuts are fine but I wouldn't buy any Paste Roasted Peanut or Hazelnuts as they are very runny indicating they are diluted with lots of oil. There isn't much information on them to see how much/percentage is actual nuts and how much and what kind of oil is used in them.”

Hi Amir, We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your recent purchase. Our nut pastes only contain nuts, there are no other ingredients to this product. We do mention on our product pages that your will need to “stir before use as some separation of oil will occur”, the reason for this is because these products are 100% natural and contain no emulsifiers or stabilisers, meaning that the natural oils separate from the heavier nut partials. “Having written sadly about packing and delivery. We move to the next stage, that being taste and texture IT WAS NOT MY WISH TO MAKE COMPARISONS WITH MY NORMAL BRAND. The volume was thinner and not so nutty as l hoped, but I’m still enjoying the spread.”
