Terrible website, don’t care that houses have been sold and definitely don’t care about your story

I drove an hour to meet my wife at an arranged viewing at 11am and we arrived on time. The agent was at the property and ignored us for a while whilst we all stood outside of the property as she was talking on the phone. When she eventually finished her conversation she opened the key safe and there was no key. She said sorry we cannot view because there is no key. Very, very unprofessional and very frustrating. The agents blurb says 97% better than the rest this cannot be true from my experience today. I suggest anyone wanting to view a property marketed by this agent think carefully before travelling to a pre-arranged viewing as you may well have a wasted journey.

Turned up at 11am for a viewing and the viewing lady extremely unprofessional. Found she did not have the key so we could not view the property. Totally unbelievable so unprofessional. I say think carefully before booking any viewing with this company as you may well have a completely wasted journey.

The 'Best Estate Agency Award' is a little misleading. Most Estate Agents can apply and receive this, but to display the poster and promote themselves online, all they need to do is buy a licence for £1400 plus VAT. Whilst they will say it's not a purchased award, it quite clearly is. I think Natalie Davies the Valuations Manager needs to be more upfront about this when boasting of about this in her sales pitch. This put me off the agent as it is quite clearly dishonest.

Hi Anonymous, Whilst we often appreciate the feedback we really don’t appreciate being called dishonest especially by somebody who clearly hasn’t done any research but believes it to be acceptable to call our staff liars for no good reason. For the record, we did not/you can not buy a license or purchase this award as your claim. To save you time and to help fill in the blanks of your research here is a brief overview of how the awards are actually won NOT bought. Every Estate Agent who advertises on Rightmove (which is basically almost all of them) is automatically entered without any or payment being made. The Best agency guide in conjunction with Rightmove then analyses approximately 1 million properties that are listed on the site over a 6 month period. They focus on tracking the percentage of new instructions in their patch, whether the property actually sold or let in that time and whether it falls through. They gather this score together and only 2500 agents across the country get through to the next round. And just to make you aware as agents we are not told when this process starts it’s done behind the scenes, so it is impossible to have any influence over the results other than to perform every day. The top performing agents are then mystery shopped (again anonymously) and judged on professionalism, courteousness, listening understanding, knowledge, and responsiveness. Finally, they assess the company’s website and score it on quality of marketing, ease of interaction, expertise, how optimised it is for search engines, and its mobile responsiveness. It is not possible to apply/pay to receive an award in the Best Estate Agency Guide. All Estate Agents are judged in the same way against the same criteria Our awards were won/earned it fair and square by our excellent team and I don’t appreciate someone belittling our hard work especially when you are just plain wrong. The costs that you referred are reserved for the winners only to buy their branded marketing package. Should they wish to promote their success. Hopefully ‘anonymous’ you will now realise that this is a genuine award that has only been won through hard work and gives us the benchmark against other Estate Agents which will help the public be able to access the best agents in the area. So, we are extremely proud to be able to put our name to this accolade and we will continue to mention and promote our success. I only wish that you were brave enough to put your name on your review rather than hiding behind a keyboard! Perhaps you should think twice before putting harmful reviews online as they can be damaging to a family-run business, a business that doesn’t buy their success but work hard for it. Hopefully, this link will work to give you the full information of the award and the rigorous tests the company was judged on to achieve such an award https://bestestateagentguide.co.uk/about/rating-system/
Unfortunately Edwards lacked the professionalism expected and a as a direct result I felt I had no option to move my house sale to another agent. My partner also pulled out of his house sale with them. It appears they are not regulated by the NAEA or ARLA. Had I known this I would have gone elsewhere.

Hi Sharon It's very disappointing to hear your review. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and do our utmost to provide exceptional service. As you will see from all our other reviews, we achieve this time and time again and so it is very frustrating when a negative review is left without us having the opportunity to address any issues beforehand. Firstly, to clarify, we are regulated by The Property Ombudsman. An agent is not required to register with all governing bodies. We are registered with The Property Ombudsman as this is the most well-known property regulatory service. Secondly, you refer to your partner withdrawing from his house sale. This is incorrect. Your partner was purchasing a property through us, which he withdrew from as ‘he had a change of heart’ and a change in personal circumstances. He has been registered with us for some time and is still registered with us as a potential buyer. At no time has he made us aware that he was or is unhappy with our service. In fact, I believe he recommended us to you as an agent to sell your property. In regards to the sale of your property, we had 10 viewings, 2 offers, and agreed a sale within a couple of weeks. We also achieved a sale price above your asking price. Unfortunately, following advice from their solicitor, the buyer withdrew their offer 2 weeks later. It is extremely frustrating for us all when a sale falls through, but, as evident in your partner withdrawing from his purchase, it does happen. We would have liked to have been given the opportunity of remarketing, but you decided to take the property to another agent. We understand that emotions can run high in these situations, however, we do not feel that we have acted unprofessionally. If you would like to discuss this in more detail then please let us know.
This is a non-sensical request...there was no order or purchase in April from Edwards by me. Stop asking for evaluation.
