I have rented a house from Edwards Estate Agents since December 2020. The service has been variable over the course of two and a half years but as of January 2023 has been excellent. I was impressed by Edwards initially having dealt with Sophie O'Callaghan and Becky Penny in 2020 and 2021. However, the service was poor in early 2022 as I had no contact to sort out admin relating to the property and other matters. Edwards' lettings department seemed disorganised in early 2022 as they lost all their lettings staff whilst maintaining staff like their valuations manager Natalie Davies who did something horrendously unprofessional with a client in November 2021 and lied in the resulting disciplinary in January 2022. On a positive note, I have been looked after by Sarah Dyke since January 2023 and the service has been excellent. Sarah has a proactive attitude to customer service so all matters relating to changes in contracts and maintenance are dealt with efficiently and in good time.

As a family run business, we pride ourselves on providing an excellent service and so, to hear your recent experience with our lettings team has been exceptional is fantastic. To address your comments regarding the poor service you received in 2022, we are sorry to hear that you felt our service levels at this time were below expectation. We are a small lettings team of three and at that time, Sarah who you have already mentioned, was working within the team and has done for the last six years. Unfortunately, we had one member of staff leave for a planned retirement and one leave for pastures new, which was disappointing but a normal occurrence for any business. We worked quickly to recruit two new members of experienced staff and as you have said yourself, our current team is doing a brilliant job. We were surprised in regard to your comments relating to Natalie Davies, as she has not worked for the company for some time. We hope to continue providing an excellent service moving forward.

Once the sale was progressing, I had a good experience with Mandy. However, while we were in the process of having our offer accepted I was treated quite rudely and unprofessionally by a couple of members of the office staff.

Statements received were consistent. In the past, they have also provided suggestion to solving a disagreement. However, this was only done after forwarding the tenant's complaint directly to us, which they could have been the mediator, to avoid animosity between 2 parties. They have provided photos of faulty items when maintenance were required, but it has to be asked. We believe an agent should be more pro-active in helping the landlord managed the property by keeping the landlord updated on any issues (e.g: by providing proof of photos before and after ) without the landlord chasing the issue.
