The content and speakers were very engaging and the injections covered were all the standard topics one would need. I appreciated the focus on assessment and selection of the right patients. I do feel the content could be improved by focusing more on the finer detail which is needed when first starting to inject. Areas to include may cover how to consent someone properly, how to clean the skin and with what, what syringe size to use for what injection, proper landmarks and targets for the knee injections - we were told to practise all the approaches but only really shown how to do one. There was no mention of withdrawing to check position (ie not in a blood vessel) until right at the end which I felt.was a safety issue. It would be useful to cover how to navigate potential issues mid injection eg withdrawing blood into the syringe. Overall this was a very good refresher, but I wonder if practitioners new to injections would feel confident enough to be able to get going without support.

Really knowledgeable, skilled tutors and the delivery was fun and memorable. I know it is difficult and we should practice ourselves, but a little bit more one to one on suturing skills would have been useful

very much relevant to Primary care, worth doing if interested in updating minor surgery skills

The quality of the material was very good and written from a primary care perspective. There were also several useful tips throughout the course. It was good to interact with other GPs. For beginners, it may be good to have a smaller student to surgeon ratio. Perhaps a dedicated minor surgery skills course in the future for beginners would be good as there is quite a lot for a beginner to get their head round in a short period in terms of equipment handling, learning the sutures and the pressure of doing a DOPS the next day!
