Excellent for newcomers to minor surgery. Not so good if you’ve been doing for a while or are doing at a higher level than basic GMS. A lot of time spent covering extremely basic things e.g. suturing. Expensive course for minimal contact with those presenting information. Very few hours for your money. Equipment used not great quality and made any practising hard. Quoting of out of date facts and figures- e.g. BCC margin advice is 4mm not 3mm (BJD 2021).

More time needed practicing the practical side of injections. The grey area for paramedics need to be explained to students before attending. Or further information or support Paramedics to practice this skill is required. HCPC are very non specific. I feel I was lead to believe I would be ok to practice this skill after this course and I’m non the wiser if I can or not. Overall I say I enjoyed the course but unsure if I can practice the skills learnt

The joint injection course is too hurried. I worry about what I witnessed in delegates - a clear lack of competency was observed in the practical sessions and I can't be sure that I leave competent to perform the procedures. This should not be a tick box attendance exercise, some proper assessment of competency would be better, and there are just too many delegates per staff to safely and reliably impart skill.
