“We have advertised with various different organisations, but Independent Cottages comes top for us for a variety of reasons. Requests for information come direct, and as there is an active calendar the contacts are generally requesting valid bookings. It is easy to edit and change details online. And using Google Analytics Indepemdent Cottages often appear as our top refering site. Great value for money - annual fee and no further charges”

“I am not very computer literate but I have found this site very user friendly, and the few things I didn't quite know how to do were sorted immediately with a quick e-mail. “Over the past four years I have advertised with various cottage guides in the UK, and by far the most successful with regard to enquiries and securing bookings has been Independent Cottages. Their website is very good and is easy to use and maintain, and as an owner I appreciate the way they are very proactive in providing us with up to date news and information on the self catering business. I never hesitate to renew my adverts with them because I am always confident of receiving a good return on what is a very reasonable annual subscription rate. Overall I have found Independent Cottages to be a well run professional business, and can highly recommend them to any new or prospective owners.”

“Sarah and Steve offer a very good website which advertises holiday cottages and is very easy to use. Cottage lookers can look for cottages with the easy navigation and so none of the 100 questions asked as the site is very direct and to the point. Sarah is on hand if we have a problem and is quick to solve any problems and the best thing about the Independent site is that we can telephone and we ALWAYS speak to the same person unlike another site we are on and you could be talking to someone who does not speak english. There is no booking fees and we have complete control of our own business and so dont go to the cowboys out there but come to the indians for a FIRST CLASS SERVICE.”

“We have used Independent Cottages for quite a few years for our privately managed (and truly independent!) holiday properties in the Lakes. It's fair to say they have given us a consistently good level of enquiries from guests, and we believe that their pricing structure is fair and reasonable, particularly for small operators like us. Whenever we have needed to contact Sarah, the service has been first class. The plans for going forward sound great, without giving up the ethos that we like and support. Good luck.”

“Woolstore Cottage has been advertised with Independent Cottages (IC) for a number of years. We took over the cottage in 2015 and took on all of the advertising websites that the previous owners used - simply because we were new to the business and were unsure what to do. We now only use our website and subscribe to two others, one being a website dedicated to our area of the country and Independent Cottages. Sarah and colleagues have been really helpful in providing advice and guidance and rental tips. When our we designer was struggling with a calendar for our site, IC shared theirs so we now have one calendar sync'd to two sites which is great. We only have one cottage and both have full time jobs so it is really important to have something interactive and easy for us to use and update. We get a lot of enquiries from IC and people often say they have chosen to use the site as it is truly "independent" and not one of the "big boys". Even if I cannot assist someone with a booking enquiry, I always tell then to check out the IC site (and sometimes even do it for them and tell them to check a particular property!). I know that Sarah and her team are planning a few changes to the site and this will only improve and enhance what we already have/use. Paula and Andy McLean.”

“When I started renting out my holiday cottage I used one of the "big" companies to get me going. I quickly discovered that they were only interested in their profit and had many confrontations when they tried to take too much commission. The financial side is important but I want to offer our customers a wonderful holiday at fair price in a property that meets or exceeds their expectations. Independent Cottages has provided the perfect method for me to advertise my property and offer holidays at a price that is fair to me and the holiday maker without the overhead of commission. “We have advertised our holiday cottage with Independent Cottages for about 8 years now and I have to say they have always provided us with excellent customer service. Every email we send is answered freindly, efficiently and very promptly. They are always updating the services they offer and reviewing new ways they can help us market our property. The Late Lets section is probably the most useful section for us as we always update it an list any late offers we have which always then seem to get booked out. We are now running at over 85% occupancy each year with over 64 bookings this year on our one cottage; Independent cottages have been instrumental in helping us achieve this success. Our trust and reliance on Independent Cottages also comes into play when we want to go away ourselves as we always check the Cottages available on Independent Cottages. The fact that you are contacting & booking with the owners direct themselves is very important to us when booking a cottage to stay in. “Sarah Jarvis has been very helpful to our Garden Annexe business as one of the advertising platforms that we use. We were attracted by the fact that they only asked for an annual payment and no further commissions. We have been very pleased with the people coming through this site and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Independent Cottages. They are in the middle of a revamp, and this was the one weak area, but because their commitment is strong, evidenced by immediate replies to questions, we know they are building a very strong business and infrastructure. if you follow their instructions, like frequent use of their site, and making use of Late Availability and uploading quality photos. you will find your monthly viewing stats will soar. So do as they recommend and your businesses will flourish with them.”

“I cannot recommend Independent Cottages enough! I have been with them for over six years and even had seven cottages listed with them at any one time. I have tried various other marketing cottage websites but never renew my contract with them. I have continuously used Independent Cottages due to the volume of enquires, ease of use of site especially with adding special offers and using the calendar, quality of guests (yes seriously) and Sarah's lovely communication. “Independent Cottages are excellent! A fantastic service! I have tried other listing sites and no-one measures up to the success that we have though the guys at Independent Cottages. The listings look great and are easy to find and clients love the site (Well they come back for more year after year!) As a cottage owner it is so great to be in control of payments too. Well the proof is in the rentals - we are fully booked for all school holidays for 2017 already and we are not yet in December 2016! Fantastic service. Many thanks to Independent cottages!!”
