“As a cottage owner the Independent Cottages website is easy to use - make changes, update bookings , late availability etc. The website gives me a reasonable number of bookings far outweighing the very reasonable annual cost.”

“Having been letting self-catering accommodation for the best part of 50 years, I have tried many forms of advertising, including through an agent for a couple of years, which did not suit me at all. I really like the personal friendly contact with my visitors, and this is reflected through Independent Cottages, whose lovely staff really "get" this, and have the same approach. I get a steady stream of enquiries through their site, and several of my bookings have turned into regular ones. Highly recommended.”

“We came across this company when we had been rejected for renewal by a well known big Trip company at short notice. After careful analysis of the info, we went ahead and we are glad we did. The price was very competitive and we made the first years fee back in the first week. There has been a steady stream of enquiries (not all resulted in bookings but that's not their fault!). Looking good for the second year so far. They are very helpful and keep you advised of new initiatives in the difficult market. Recommended.”

“I have used Independent cottages for a number of years to advertise my holiday property on the Lincolnshire coast. They have always had my best interests at heart and their website is easy to manage. I have many regular clients who feel that they are not been asked for hidden charges when they book my property. The one off fee for the year means that I can budget more easily and if I have a query there is always a friendly ear at the end of a phone. That is important for older people like myself. Long may they continue to flourish”

“I have used Independent Cottages to market my holiday cottage for 2 years. The site is a useful addition to my portfolio of marketing sites. I much prefer the model of paying a yearly fee rather than the extortionate commission fees charged by some OTAs. The site presents well to customers and my listing has all the details and photos I need to sell my property to holiday guests. Customer service is good.”

“It's be a great choice! I've received dozens of direct bookings without paying commision. The support team at independent cottages were superhelpful, they attached a book now link on the website so that guests can make online bookings through my website.”

“Great, I've had a lot of enquiries from Independent Cottages and my advertisement with them has been really successful. So why 4*s and not 5? Simply because as a holiday home owner, the site itself is very very clunky, overcomplicated and old fashioned, and not easy to use, even for me, a web designer. I can't put my own information (i.e. description of the house/area/location etc, it can only be done by them, which is hugely frustrating. I wish the IC portal would talk to my website for prices, I have to enter all the information again, which is tedious, lengthy and old fashioned. That and the time it takes for them to get back to an email, is also a bit frustrating. I've never managed to get a reply on "live chat" never anyone there, they ask you to email!! Bit of a waste of time having it then. But IC definitely attracts good quality customers and the link to my website and online booking is successful. Just needs to be updated a bit”

Thank you for your feedback Heather, we appreciate you taking the time. We note all your feedback and can say that we are very nearly 'there' with our new website. As far as putting in your own holiday home information this is absolutely possible, you just need to login to your owner area and amend until you hearts content. You can also add images and swop them around at your will. You also commented about syncing your own website prices with ours. This too is possible depending on which channel manager you use. We can also sync calendar availability if you can give us an ical link. We're not sure what you mean by 'live chat' as we don't offer this facility but we always try to come back the same day to all emails indeed we get lots of compliments from our owners on our speedy responses. They usually call back within an hour.
