“Everything was very easy except at the lSt minute. After the payment went through the aite just froze. No acknowledgement that the renewal was successful. The only indication being this request for a review.”

“The communication and customer service was very good and efficient, but the addition of an admin fee and the non disclosure of commission is not right. Payments by insurers to brokers should be disclosed, as per other financial products.”

We understand your observation regarding fees and commission and are happy to clarify our position. Our remuneration practices are regulated under the Financial Conduct Authority’s Insurance Conduct of Business (ICOB's) rules. These require us to disclose the existence and nature of commission and to disclose the amount where a customer asks. We have done so in the past and will always do so upon request. When you refer to “other financial products”, we understand you to mean products sold under the Conduct of Business (COB) regime, which has its own distinct rules about commission disclosure. We disclose our administration fees clearly to customers before they proceed at both new business and renewal. At that point, customers are under no obligation to continue and are free to compare our overall pricing and service with other firms. Charging transparent service fees alongside insurer commission is a long established practice across the personal and commercial insurance markets. We regularly review our fees against the wider market and remain mindful at all times of our obligation to provide fair value. We believe our level of service and the feedback we receive from a large number of customers supports this. We appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback and are pleased that, overall, our service met your expectations.

“Good to know my holiday home insurance is covered by this company at a reasonable price. I completed the procedure by phone and on line yet for another year. No claim so far and hopefully if need arises for claim, I hope it would be as simple and easy.”

“i4me was easy to get a quote. When I go online I expect to be given a price and not have to wait for a phone call from an agent. If I wanted to speak with an agent I would call the company in the first place.”

“Yes, effecient renewal but rather expensive increase in premium. Is there anything you can do to find a better deal?”

“The annual increase in the premium was an unacceptable 20%. We managed to reduce this substantially by increasing the excess. The cover for contents is less important for me than the 3rd party liability so I was satisfied with the outcome”

“Process was straightforward and got a good quote. Two issues...email confirmation took an age to arrive so ended up having to complete quote again as couldn't access the quote after a period of time. Secondly I keep getting calls about the original quote when I have completed the second quote and taken out the policy...does your system not check these things?!”

“Cheapest I found by a mile, but with a well respected brand Aviva. Only thing I hate is being rung within 5 minutes of online quote to follow up with a sale. They did leave me alone, and I did actually follow up with buying.... so actually the whole process was simple. I've a bad history with brokers, but hopefully all will be well.”
