“Ok but it would have been better if there had been a clear explanation as to the percentage increase in the premium compared to last year (about 25%) and a justification/explanation as to why. (e.g. higher costs, wanting to make more profit etc etc). Doing none of these things gives the impression that you think/hope that customers are either not going to notice, don't care or are idiots - which is not impressive as you are essentially a customer service company”

Thank you for your feedback and apologies you feel our renewal documentation is not clear regarding the increased premium. In relation to the renewal premium of your policy, Insurers consider several factors when calculating the renewal price. Indexation, an adverse claims history and the customer making a claim within the last 12 months will usually drive an increase, but there are other, more subjective factors as well. These include insurers’ views on the various risks associated with the insurance they are providing, such as changes in their overall claims experience for a given property type or a review of the severity of natural disasters occurring in a given postcode. We would like to confirm that renewals are not mandatory, and we contact our customers in good time with an offer of price for the coming 12 months. This gives them the opportunity to consider our terms and to shop around if they feel we are not offering value for money. Due to the various reasons that the policy premium could increase, we always ask to contact us if you ever have any questions and this is something we would happily discuss with you and provide a full explanation.

“Really excellent service from i4me. We had to change insurers because our last ones removed vital cover from their quote. I was informed of this by phone and had a replacement quote just a couple of hours later. It meant I had time to compare and make the right decision, and when I needed to ask questions, the team were extremely responsive and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.”

“Good service, helpful and friendly staff. Was able to make a decision on my car insurance without being hounded daily / hourly with calls from your staff members, which was very much appreciated! There was a slight delay to receive my insurance documents, which I was slightly concerned over, but they still arrived same day in my email inbox. Would recommend to others and would use again.”

“This is my third year with i4me and I’ve always found them very helpful, offering a real and personal service. I was recommended i4me by the seller of my holiday home when I purchased it, and I’d be happy to recommend them to anyone. I did have a query upon renewal, which was quickly resolved and turned out to have been my error! Thankfully I’ve had no reason to make a claim, but should that change in the future I’m sure that the team will be there to guide and assist me. It’s i4me, for me!”

“I was pleasantly surprised at the ease and efficiency that the staff member displayed when cancelling my holiday let policy due to the Coronavirus outbreak. I will definitely reinsure all my properties with them at renewal following the telephone conversation .”
