I'm not accustomed to leaving reviews but I thought this would help others. My experience with holiday gems was fairly straightforward but has left me a little untrusting. Holiday Gems were cheaper than other holiday providers but I would advise that you call them rather than book online. Also, ask the phone operator to talk you through all the costs before making your booking. I booked a family holiday for May 2022 by doing this online. The day after booking the holiday I received a call from a friendly young man telling me my order didn't go through so he had to do it for me. He checked through our holiday details and they appeared to be correct. Firstly he booked our flights, telling me before he placed my order that they were non-refundable. After he booked our flights he then told me that since making my online booking the hotel prices had gone up by £10 each, I feel this was a bit naughty as he had just booked the non-refundable flights. If you are a family of four with 2 young children and you are happy not to sit near each don't pre-book seats as each adult will be sat with one child. I paid £7 each. again this was a bit naughty. I would suggest you book your luggage through holiday gems as this is much cheaper than adding it at a later date

This appears to be an online order and no payment is taken when the order is submitted. The website gives full information of the process on every page of the order and this is reiterated in the Terms and Conditions to which you agreed when submitting the order. Once orders are received by our office, should we not be able to honour the booking at the web price due to fluctuations in availability or cost due to 'cross over' between submission and confirmation, we will call the client to offer any suitable alternatives which is then up to the client to accept or not. No payment is taken until our client agrees to the new costs. A pre-authorisation only is held, and released immediately if no booking is confirmed. The airline booked has ounitive regulations regarding seats, check in and the legal requirements of seating with children. Unfortunately, this is a matter over which we have no control. Thank you for proceeding with the booking and we are sure that you will have a great holiday.

Booked sunday morning, checked an hour afterwards and the price had dropped by £60, so phoned up to cancell and rebook and was told i couldnt but they made a note and said they would get a manager to call me back, still waiting for that call

Hi the lady I booked with on the phone very helpful then got email and phone call saying price had increased by £82 went to pay on line but had gone up £102 ???

Booking was easy but unfortunately the next day I had a phone call to say the cost of the holiday had gone up by £139 although I had paid in full the day before. Not happy

Good prices advertised but they change whilst you are booking. Whilst trying to book a holiday the website would not allow me to pay, then that and another holiday vanished from the site.

The same day that we booked someone from your office rang me and put the price up by£75!Not very impressed with that at all.We were put on the spot and agreed but would have preferred the option of upgrading our accomodation for the extra money.

I have booked holiday was dealing with a man sorting our holiday rang back numerous times but the last thing he said was I ring you back shortly and still no phone call. Plus I don't have any paper work of holiday etc we booked. I find this not good service

Booked with Holiday Gems with Jordan he was initially very helpful until he took my money phoned and asked to speak with him twice since and hasn't got back to me . Haven't received confirmation yet of my Holiday so awaiting that still .

Call handler was very helpful and explained everything. The actual fact that we booked a holiday paid for it and then had to pay more was not acceptable and needs to be clearer before booking.

It ended up a slightly convoluted process booking with holiday gems as they struggled to book the agreed flights so there were quite a few back and forth phonecalls. Having said that, the operator was polite and very helpful and did get the issue sorted after a few hours so, although it took a little more liaison than expected, I’m happy with the process overall.

Everything was going great, I booked and paid for the holiday and then waited for someone to call back and go through everything with me. When someone did call me back everything was great but then was told the price had increased by £88. After spending days looking for a holiday I really couldn't be bothered arguing. So be aware when booking from this company that the price you book your holiday for isn't necessarily the price you will pay.

Booked holiday online and paid straight away the full price. Shortly after we received a call from agent saying the room we booked is no longer available and we need to pay more to secure the place we wanted. We refused extra payment as it was ridicilious request to pay extra for something we already paid and received confirmation. Literally 3 mins after that we received another phone call from the agent saying that everything is sorted and the room we originally booked is reserved for us. We were left with very mixed feelings about our holiday in Feb 2022.

Good prices, easy to book on line. However after pressing button to book based on the prices shown, received phone call next day to say price had increased due to ‘live’ prices. Accepted change as booking with other people and places were going very quickly. Annoyed over this, as accepted total price as shown on site. Not clearly shown that this price could increase as it’s only a ‘request’ booking.

Would have been 5 stars but after booking the price went up! We were told this was because the hotel gave them the wrong prices! Very annoying. Though to be fair, the holiday is still a great price

Filling in the form to put your holiday down on paper was great (5 out of 5). Clear & well thought out but after trying to pay after rechecking everything 3 times, it woouldnt work! We were saved by a call from Geraldine (customer helpline). She spent a lot of time fixing everything for me & got everything sorted out to how I wanted them. Thank you Geraldine.

I booked this holiday on line and paid in full,I then get a phone call the next evening telling me he was going to confirm my booking,he seemed quite surprised my flights were booked but then proceeded to tell me my room rate had gone up,I was disgusted he then said I could cancel but it would take 21 days to get e refund,this was so upsetting he new my distress and spoke to a supervisor who decided to let me have the rooms at original price, iam a 75 year old lady I have always booked my holidays on line and never had this happen, on top of this iam phoned the next day and again was told my holiday needed to be confirmed,I then told her it had been and I had printed out all my documents,is this normal procedure,I do hope not,I will not be dealing with you in the future.
