Down To Earth is a multi-disciplined company offering specialist arboricultural contracting and consultancy throughout Kent and South East London.

Established in 1980 by Glenn Morris, and as one of the pioneering companies helping to establish the Arboricultural Association approved contractor scheme, we’ve grown into the largest tree contracting company in Kent securing an impressive array of clients in both the domestic and commercial sectors.

The successful merger with Greencut Horticulture in 2016 resulted in the creation of a large company that not only has the infrastructure to deal with any size job, but the modern back office systems that allow us to focus on a customer-centric model.

“The service provided has always been excellent. Staff are very knowledgeable and offer good advice. Only down side is that we had to wait a while for the works to be carried out but I suppose that is to be expected from a company that has a good reputation”

“Very helpful and professional approach from the team who costed the work and from those who did the work to a high standard - double checking that I was happy. Also received very helpful response from the admin lady who managed to get me a work date in advance of 2018 by moving things around.”

“DTE carried out the work to a very high standard and cleared away all debris meticulously. The small amount of damage that occurred following the felling of 1 large tree and the pruning of 2 huge oak trees was put right without any fuss.”

“Professional, courteous and arrived on time. Left everything clean and tidy afterwards. However, when the tree was felled it landed on an existing shrub/tree in the garden and I only realised afterwards it had caused slight damage to some of the branches.”

“Nice friendly people, worked well. But there are still a number of roots that have not be ground out and which are very difficicult yo remove without the gear. I don't really blame the crew for this as they would have been difficult to spot amongst the detritus of the job. My recommendation would be to offer both a removal and a removal and claring service - so far I have made 4 estate car loads of roots and gereral grime to the dump and it is the removal of this that has revealed the stumps. Realistically I couldn't have expected the team to have done this in the time they had but the stumps shouldn't still be there. There was also a previously chopped down shrub right next to the hedge which was left in siru which seemed a littly petty when there was 100 yeards of hedge ot be got rid of. This aside very pleased.”

“I have only given tidiness a poor rating due to the fact that a huge amount of wood chippings were left in the area where the Cyprus tree had been removed. I filled 12 compost size bags myself. I spoke to your operations manager regarding this matter. Had I been less able I would have been left with a problem. It took me a good hour to bag up the surplus chippings. Having bagged up the chippings it became clear that the stump grinding varied in depth from a few mm to a maximum of 150/170mm with side roots untouched above ground level. Clearly the quotation needed to more explicit on what one can expect. I would also recommend that you advise customers nor to locate the shredder and blower too close to ones house and that it is advisable to move ones car well away from the working area. A lot fine chippings get everywhere in the wind and stick to everything in light drizzle. Other than the above comments I was very pleased. David Cowland”

“The crew turned up on time and worked on several trees in windy and showery weather, finishing late in the afternoon on a very nasty Hawthorn. Our garden and neighbour's garden were left in a tidy state. All in all a good job, leaving us with a set of nicely reduced and trimmed trees.”

“Generally excellent job, particularly renovating our old apple trees. There was some minor damage to fittings at the side of the house caused when removing branches etc but these were easily put right.”
