Down To Earth is a multi-disciplined company offering specialist arboricultural contracting and consultancy throughout Kent and South East London.

Established in 1980 by Glenn Morris, and as one of the pioneering companies helping to establish the Arboricultural Association approved contractor scheme, we’ve grown into the largest tree contracting company in Kent securing an impressive array of clients in both the domestic and commercial sectors.

The successful merger with Greencut Horticulture in 2016 resulted in the creation of a large company that not only has the infrastructure to deal with any size job, but the modern back office systems that allow us to focus on a customer-centric model.

“As always, Down to Earth’s team were professional to their fingertips. They are especially good at making clear from the first appointment and through the planning process what will the work will entail and at providing reassurance about the likely outcomes. They could not be more respectful of property and leave the garden in a tidier condition than that in which they found it ( a view shared by my neighbour on whose drive Down to Earth parked and on which the discarded wood was shredded). All of the team working on the trees and those in the company’s office are kind and helpful. Heartily recommended.”

“An excellent service all round: A rapid and efficient response to my initial enquiry was followed by a near-immediate visit by an estimator and same-day estimate with alternatively competitively-priced options. All communications thereafter were efficient and engaging and ultimately led to an offer of a short-notice advanced slot for the work. As before, the team of three arrived punctually on the day and worked efficiently and at speed to deliver an excellent outcome, leaving the site tidy and swept clean. I can't imagine a better service or outcome for what was a large-scale tree pruning exercise in a difficult location. "Highly recommended" and I will default to Down to Earth for all my future woodland and garden tree maintenance work.”

“Booked to reduce the height of a very tall sycamore tree. Survey was done without any fuss and follow up was efficient. Team arrived on time and worked hard for 3+ hours to complete the job. Neat and tidy. Very pleased with the outcome and would certainly recommend!”

“The ownership of Down to Earth passed a couple of years ago. Glen Morris is probably now fulling his lifelong exploring dreams, but he’s left a legacy in Down-to- Earth. “100% recommended. The team have removed a condemned, mature ash tree from the back of my neighbour's garden that was looming right over my house and garden. The job was part done by another tree surgeon and then abandoned as 'too dangerous' part way through, after a lot of damage had been done to my garden. DOWN TO EARTH took over the job and completed it with no fuss and no further damage. The team was professional, polite and friendly - and they worked so hard. They cleared up afterwards, and even filled in some of the divots in my lawn left by the first guys.”

“Our large alder tree in the front garden needs cutting back every 5/6 years or so. Once again we used the company for a number of reasons. 1. they took care of obtaining the required planning permission (TPO) 2. the price is competitive 3. the treatment leaves the tree in a really good shape, no easy matter 4. the working team is first rate, punctual, polite, friendly and tidy We also had a little more work to be undertaken in the back garden which was completed to our entire satisfaction. “We have used Down to Earth Trees for many years. On this occasion the work needed to be carried out on two visits, because a large apple tree had not dropped its leaves by the scheduled visit Christmas week, although the other trees were ready for pruning, and this work was done most satisfactorily. The apple was pruned last week in the wettest conditions for over 20 years. As usual, everything was done properly and the site was left in immaculate condition. I have met the team of the day on other occasions, and, despite being soaked, they carried out the work conscientiously and in good humour. Needless to say, we shall be inviting them again.”
