Flyby Technology are an outstanding and very professional organisation. Have a very can do attitude and are exceedingly helpful. I could not recommend them more highly, very experienced group of people with an amazing depth of experience and knowledge in most facets of aviation. Probably the best drone training on the market!

I've just finished the 3 day course with Flyby Technology and, although I've been flying drones for 6 years with a significant amount of flying experience, the course provided me with a seriously impressive and invaluable amount of information. The course was taught by Kevin who is a very good teacher. He was excellent at dealing with all sorts of questions and 'what if' scenarios, and his professionalism and style meant for a thoroughly interesting and enjoyable 3 days. I had my FST examined by Andy 'Dutch' Holland. Even with a lot of experience flying drones, I was still a little apprehensive of what was to come. Dutch made the whole test relaxed and calm and it was a huge relief to have such a cool character stood next to me as I flew my drone as instructed to. I would thoroughly recommend Flyby Technology, if only for their quality and standard of training and assistance obtaining your PfCO. However, their worth as an NQE goes much further this, with support before the course, during the course and after the course. I also understand that this support is ongoing. Nick B

I originally did my ground school and flight test, obtaining a PFAW, some years ago with a different NQE. Three years in as a solo operator and with changes in the ANO I felt that it was time to get some independent validation that my operating methods and flight skills were still valid / safe and to see if there was more I could learn to either improve my capabilities or make my operation more robust. After researching (various forums, other operators etc) and talking directly to a number of NQE’s I chose Flyby Technology. Following a lengthy evening phone call (with JP) Flyby Technology tailored a package that allowed me to join various elements of both their ground school and practical flight training and assessment sessions including one to one sessions with Dicky Bird at the Bristol Ground School location.. A great couple a days with some very experienced guys. Instruction, knowledge and information shared has enabled me to hone my flight skills and will enable me to make my documentation more comprehensive. A big thanks to Dicky for his time and experience. His suggestion of an advanced flight manoeuvre that helps keep the finger memory sharp will be practised on my test field. It will certainly keep the mind focused though doubt I would have a need for it on a commercial job - but you never know, My thanks to FlyBy technology who I would highly recommend. If you are looking for an NQE to train you choose FlyBy

All three instructors were awesome, very knowledgable in their field with tons of real life examples and experiences. I'm proud to say I was trained and successfully achieved my CAA FST under FlyBy technology. And also the first drone pilot to be FST passed by Dutch (A380 pilot for BA). I would definitely recommend the training as they provide all the help you need to learn the law, met, pilot skills and also real time feedback...

What a great experience - Just passed and completed my 5 day PfCO with Flybe - cant recommend it highly enough. The depth of knowledge and experience of our 2 instructors JP and Gareth is immense (both current commercial airline pilots and previous military fighter pilots). They take you through all areas of the course professionally, make it easy to learn, remember and apply. They will improve your flying skills 10 fold. Anyone wanting the very best drone training in the industry look no further - book this course - you will not be disappointed.

I trawled through many companies before finding Flyby. The five-day course covers essential aspects of drone flying, and much more. I left the course with a transformed understanding of drone flying, all the while learning from a wealth of experience in Kevin, Dutch and Jon. I highly recommend it.

What a great company. Did the 5 day Pfco Course with my dad last week, and had a blast. Kevin, JP and Dutch were fantastic instructors, who gave us the space and time we needed to improve not only our flying skills but our ground knowledge also. With the knowledge and continued support of FlyBy Technology, I would highly recommend this company if you are considering your drone licence.

I've just completed a fantastic 5 day flyby drone course in London. Having been educated to degree level and spent 10 years in my chosen industry I can safely say I have never before received training which resulted in so much progress in such a small amount of time as I did this week. This week I have gone from having no experience of aviation to being able to legitimately call myself pilot, confident in the underpinning theory, legal conitations with a high level of practical flying skills. Massive thanks to Kevin, JP and Dutch - it was a brilliant week to start my commercial drone career.

So after just completing the 5 day PFCO course with Jon, Kev and Dutch I am more than happy that I made the decision to do this training with these guys. Every step of the way has been clear, precise and engaging both for ground school and FST. There was never a problem with knowledge base for questions that needed answering and there was a lot that needed to be answered, even if it meant staying late to do so. It is an intense week to do, and I have learnt so much in such a short space of time , all of which I can go away with and build on with confidence. No Jon isn't paying me to write this review but after the week I feel it is just deserved for these guys to take some recognition of the inspiration they have put in me and to come away with FST in full Atti mode is just the icing on the cake. Hats of fellas.....take a bow????

I have been flying drones for over 12 months in a club environment. When i decided i wanted to make a career out of obtaining my PFCO for commercial work. There were lots of courses to choose from. I decided to go with Flyby, because of the reputation they have, knowledge they have and experiences they share when you join their course. I did the 2 day ground school with exam, followed by the flight test. I wasn't sure if i could get everything in my head and retain it in 2 days. I was so wrong. It was presented in such a way, that made it easy to understand, retain and call on it, when required. I passed the ground school exam at the end of day 2. Then completed my Ops manual and moved to the Flight test. This was conducted in a professional manner, whilst allowing me as a new pilot, to relax into the applied phase. It was actually a great session and really enjoyed the whole experience, from start to finish. If you are thinking about PFCO, just book in with Flyby.

A colleague and I attended the "Cambridge" Fast-Track Course a couple of weeks ago, and we really can't fault it. The ground school had a relaxed atmosphere allowing our instructor Graham to pass on all the information we needed to know, together with his personal insights. We finished this part of the training feeling that we had the knowledge needed to operate safely and legally. On Day 3 we started the flying training in open fields; some additional students joined us from a previously weather affected course, together with an additional instructor. This meant that all flying was done under one-to-one instruction, giving time for breaks and for those that needed them battery recharges. More of the same on Day 4, with our skills being further honed with the introduction of ATTI mode, an interesting challenge in the strong winds. Day 5 was the flying test/pretend job - this took place at a local airfield with various historic aircraft and birds of prey adding to the interest. So with this exercise completed successfully, Graham told us we had achieved the standard required by Flyby Technology to be signed off. So now we just need to sort out the paper work to submit to the CAA, and then await the arrival of our PfCO. We would strongly recommend Flyby and its instructors, and hope we might be able to do some more task specific training with them in the future. Certainly if our company's drone team grows in the future, the new pilots will be sent to Flyby Technology.

Having only limited experience with drones and being somewhat older than most I was not sure what to expect, however from the outset of the 5 day course I was impressed. The lead instructor made us all welcome and presented in an informative and engaging manner. There was much to pack in and the pace was pretty fast but time was taken to ensure all had a firm grasp and thorough understanding of the knowledge required of a professional drone pilot. Scenarios were discussed at length to make the subjects come alive and I believe we all came away from ground school greatly enlightened. Flying started on day 3 and was one to one, with several extra instructor pilots joining to help out. At no point did I feel my lack of experience was a hindrance, the instructors I worked with were calm and patient, taking the time to emphasise where I had improved and help with flight exercises I found challenging. The Flight Skills Test which I initially perceived as a daunting prospect, turned into an enjoyable learning experience, with much to take away from the debrief. From day 3 we also spent time discussing the development of our operations manuals, a concept new to most students. It was clear that Flyby were going to be supportive throughout the process of gaining the PfCO and not just there to deliver the training and cut us loose. I have no reservations in recommending this course in the highest terms. All of the students came to the course as hobbyists but left with a strong understanding of what it means to be a professional in this emerging industry. I wish all my fellow students every success and with the ongoing support from Flyby, am in no doubt they will rise to the challenge of developing their own careers in this exciting line of work.

It has been a fantastic experience to undergo training with Flyby Technology to achieve my PfCO. The Groundschool was two days of combining both learning and discussion to be comfortable with safety, air law, reading air maps, meteorology and good operating procedures. Some parts were new to me, but Dicky Bird, the instructor, was excellent in breaking down the subject matter in to manageable chunks and took time to impart knowledge and understanding. Although I was nervous, the test at the end of Groundschool, although challenging, wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, because of the quality of the training and discussions during Groundschool. Excellent support is given to help you create your own Ops Manual that prescribes the way you are going to operate. Flyby are there for any advice that me be needed here. Plenty of good quality flying practice then led me to the Flight Skills Test. The watchword here is preparation. I had practised my routines by using my checklists and had all my kit ready and prepared. It still didn't stop me being nervous beforehand! The Test instructor soon put me at ease though and I went through all the procedures I had been practising, the flying itself and then post flight procedures. All I can say is that this part of my journey has been made enjoyable, challenging and interesting because of the type of people at Flyby Technology. Their ability to impart knowledge, support where necessary and to remain absolutely professional in all aspects of what they do is a credit to them.
