I went on the 5 day UAV course in Shrewsbury, and the Flyby team were really great! The 2 day ground school is geared to give you all the information you need in an easily accessible manner. I rented a drone from them for the training and Flight Skills Test, and this was great. I have gained a LOT of knowledge and experience from going on the course, and I will fly much safer and better because of it. All the members of the Flyby team are approachable and friendly.

I'm just back after an intense 4 day course in Shrewsbury. Should have been 5 days, but as heavy rain was expected on the final day, the preceding days were extended to deal with the ground school, flying and the necessary testing. The instructors were perfectly happy to work the extra hours to accommodate this. To be honest, I found the course to be quite intense at times, and certain elements were difficult to grasp, but there is help there to achieve the goals, and I found it very rewarding at the end. The venue at Shrewsbury Town football stadium was great, and the catering was to a high standard. Thanks to Dicky, Roy, Gareth and trainee instructor Andy!!

I recently undertook Flyby's 5 day training course for Initial drone pilot standard. JJ took us through the ground school modules and was excellent. He delivered the training in an engaging manor and prepared us well for the written exam we would take on day 2. Andy Bird our instructor for the flight skills part of the course was patient and helpful and guided us through the skills we would need to pass the flight skills test. We were given amble opportunity to practise our skills before the FST. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to apply to the CAA for the PfCO.

I did the full groundschool and flight skills training over 4 days. It was a complete success. My flying improved exponentially. Before, I would have rated my skills as mediocre - now, I feel competent. The instructors are friendly and helpful and inspire you with confidence. The students - all ages, both genders - form a great camaraderie together. I wouldn't consider any other school for further training.

Did the 5 day drone pilot training, thoroughly enjoyed the course. It was hard work but JJ and Andy were both brilliant. Patient and helpful and good fun to work with too. The extra 2 days flying with Andy was really helpful for the final Flight Skills Test. The venue in Bristol is superb. The food was excellent. Looking forward to the next stage and continuing support from the team at Flyby. Can't praise them highly enough. Thanks guys.

Superb training school for aspiring Drone Pilots taught by instructors that have a passion for aviation and doing things the correct way. The post-course help/advice is fantastic. You have a team behind you that understands how the CAA and Air Law works in fine detail. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Flyby technology gave me a thorough understanding of Drone ops in the UK and how to interpret the Air Navigation Order to get the best out of complying with the regulations. The instruction, both in the classroom and flying was absolutely excellent and I was privileged to learn a lot from the guys with a wealth of Civil and Military experience in this field.

Excellent course run by excellent instructors, all with a military aviation background. The instruction was pitched at a level which ensured all those present were adequately prepared for the ground exam. Plenty of extras were included which helped reinforce the learning. The flying aspects were covered at 2 sites which ensured maximum air time for all students in an uncluttered environment. Plenty of advice and instruction given during the flying phase resulting in FAR success.

I have just completed the 5 day PfCO course at the York site. I can categorically say that it has been one of the best training experiences I've ever completed. We finished around 7pm the first 2 days mainly due to a very interactive and excited group of guys who were all there for totally different reasons. Most courses want you away at 3 so the tutors can get a flyer... not here... every part of the course was given the full attention it so very much deserves. I'm sure we would have kept to schedule had we kept our mouths shut, but the information is so interesting that you cant help but fire questions in. The trainers are all from military back grounds with years of experience flying fast jets and helicopters both in service and civi-street... and when your learning aviation law, and flight skills and procedures, who do you really want teaching you... The flying skills test is sufficient to get you flying confidently and the extra days flying is used to hone further the skills and knowledge gained in the class room. Thanks to all the trainers, Dicky, Pete, John, Tony, Guppy and Matt I would definitely recommend this place if your considering your PfCO.

Jon, Tony and his team came and had a look at the Brother AIrSCouter 300 Head Up Display (HUD). 10 of us had a go with the device, and while it was acknowledged that it needed to be used with the usual caution associated with any aviation, there were certainly applications that would benefit from this well constructed device. Thanks also to Andy Johnson of Brother for for coming to show us the kit. Thanks, Jon.

Just used FlyBy Technology's support service after gaining my PfCO to help with planning a tricky upcoming UAV job and have to say, not only did the team respond quickly but their support and assistance has been comprehensive. Spoke with Jon, who was friendly, extremely knowledgable and supportive in every way - a real confidence boost for me and encouraging to know the team are behind its clients 100% - couldn't ask for more!

I recently completed the 5 day course in Shrewsbury. It was quite an intensive week as there were lots of new things to learn, but I completed the course feeling much more confident about my drone flying abilities. The instructors were great, and I'm also really pleased to learn that Flyby will continue to offer support for as long as I need it! I would highly recommend this company.

I sat my PFCO last summer (2017) and since then my business has gone from strength to strength. I cant thank the team at Flyby enough for their dedication to the the UAV industry and the commitment they made to myself and all other participants on the 5 day course that I took part in (in Shrewsbury). The course was led by 2 very experienced pilots with a great in-depth knowledge of the rules and the industry in general. Still to this day (almost 1 year later), I call the guys at Flyby who are more that happy to offer advice on upcoming projects that I am involved with. I would recommend taking the 5 day course if possible, I initially was going to take part in the 3 day course but having the extra 2 days allowed me to take in what I had learnt and more time with the tutors for 1 on 1 guidance and advice.

Also as an addition to my earlier review I would like to thank Matt (instructor), his colleague (Dicky) & also Phil (drone trainee) for going out of their way in helping resolve a technical issue with my Phantom 4 pro. Would you get this help on any other training course? Thanks again. Dave

Great delivery from an experienced naval flyer, made for an intensive but fun course, all aspects of flying a Drone to the highest standard to attain the PfCO were covered well and completely. I now feel confident and well equipped to take on my new business venture. The residential 5 day course was ideal allowing easy imeadiate access to over 100acres of beautiful Dorset farmland, with magnificent hosts and good food. Could not of hoped for more.

Just completed a 5 day course with this company and could not recommend them highly enough. After looking at a number of drone training courses, as soon as I read about the instructors and there background it was a no brainier. It was a pleasure to be taught by Matt our instructor. The course was in Dorset and a real bonus was being able to book b&b on site at the farmhouse run by the very pleasant Rob and Anna, we were also treated with some great home cooked food by Robs mother Maggie.
