“The ferns ordered were advertised as 13cm pots and all 30 delivered were 9cm. Also, one box of 10 received were dead and only 6 replacements have been sent out. This was not a cheap order so disappointed no acknowledgment of wrong size pots sent.”
“Very disappointed inthe condition of the plants on delivery. The grasses and honeysuckle weren't too bad but the two trays of French marigolds were in a sorry state. Only two plants worth saving out of the 12. Badly packaged and plants damaged with stems broken. All the plants were very dry. I won't be ordering again.”
“I ordered many snapdragons and lobelias. They were very tightly packed, and not in good condition when I got them.
I managed to save 90% of the snapdragons, but only 50% of the lobelias.”
“While I have found customer service at Carbeth very good and they seem a good company, the delivery of the cat grass I recently purchased took several days. As a result it started to go yellow within a few days. Previously they offered a next day delivery option at an additional cost but this wasn't available this time. Coupled with the significant increase in price for the product and it taking longer to arrive means I am hesitant to purchase again as it isn't lasting long enough to justify the price.”
“2 Blueberry shrubs ordered arrived quite badly damaged - one worse than the other. The Chive plant was very yellowed, and not in a great condition. Very disappointing.”
“I chose this rose bush for a very important friend's Ruby wedding celebration......red roses
But when plant arrived there were no flowers - just a pruned plant.
Very disappointed”
“I ordered twice from Carbeth. Once from Amazon and once directly. The two rhubarb crowns from Amazon that I ordered were black/rotten and slimy on arrival. I put that down to bad luck. The second time I ordered direct and this time a 1 litre size Rhubarb plant arrived with yellow leaves and looking very worse for wear. I planted it and I’m trying to nurse it back to Health. All in all, I’m not terribly impressed with the quality of the plants which is a great shame as I like to try and support Scottish firms.”
“Sadly my plants were very poorly packed and knocked about, I cannot really comment if they are good or not as they are going to take a lot of care to coax them back. Should of packed then better and with more soil, so cannot really say too much as this stage about the company or plants.”
“The 4 Rhododendron plants were about what I expected. The acer however was pretty disappointing -- very spindly and sent in a 10cm pot not 12 cm as advertised; better available at Homebase at cheaper price. "Go plastic free" seemed meaningless as the pots were plastic and wrapped in plastic bags. Cardboard exterior packaging was very weak and slightly crushed a tone end when received.
DX delivery sent email with delivery between 12 and 2; this tracking disappeared when 2 passed; arrived 4 pm.”
“Disappointing jasmine plant sent to my Mum for mother's day - a very young plant with no flowers, although the previous plant purchased a few weeks before was covered in flowers.
I have raised this with you, and you suggested I could send it back for a refund - which is difficult, since it was a gift.”
