“The birthday rose arrived with soil everywhere; on the gift bag, on the bow, and all over the inside of the box. Despite paying for ‘no plastic’ option, I ended up using a plastic bag to replace the biodegradable bag sent with the rose as it wasn't big enough to hold all the soil.
All in all I was disappointed in the quality of the packaging and the after sales service was poor; being busy is a weak excuse. I gave up with them in the end because it was too much of a pain.”
“I received the plant and was very disappointed, it was very small and looked very unhealthy, I might as well gone down to my local garden centre and got one for £6.”
“Bought as a gift and sent direct to recipient- Plant much smaller than expected and the pot which was bought as recommended to go with it was far too big”
“Plant arrived in reasonable condition, given the absence of protective wrapping. However, it was wrong / not the item I ordered. After attempts at telephone contact failed, I emailed Carbeth and subsequently received an email simply stating refund was issued - without reference to / acknowledgement of the error mor instructions for returning the plant. I immediately arranged Royal Mail return. But, it took another email to Carbeth / few days to clarify return / collection. Now, one week after RM confirmed delivery, I'm still awaiting word / confirmation of when the cost I incurred to return their plant will be refunded. Given the error originated at their end, I shouldn't be expected to absorb the costs of return - and ultimately end up out-of-pocket for a plant I didn't order and returned in better condition than it arrived.”
“Plants arrived Ok; but I paid extra 50p for "no plastic" packaging, an absolute rip-off!
Plants were in plastic pots just wrapped in biodegradable carrier bags. Not good value foe paying extra and very misleading.”
“I ordered 2 lots of 3 plants. I only received one box with 3 plants. I've emailed and called numerous times but nobody is getting back to me. Order number 37713 if anyone is willing to get back to me I'll happily change my review.
Thank you.”
“I ordered & paid for some Marguerite Daisy plants as a commemorative gift for my daughters. I was pleased that next day delivery was available as I needed them to give for a special occasion 3 days later. However, the plants did not arrive as promised & although assured by e-mail that my order had been processed, eventually I received an email 6 days later saying that the plants were unavailable. I cannot understand how it took 6 days to decide you didn’t have the plants! Luckily I was able to order some from another nursery.”
“Good afternoon
The rose bush which I ordered for my Mother arrived today.
Compared to some bushes we have looked at in our local garden centres, it's a rather poor specimen. I dread to think how it would have looked without the £1 special plant feed 😕
I am rather disappointed as I hoped a rose specialist would have been the best option to purchase from.
Please remove me from your mailing list as I'd rather not use your company again.
Yours faithfully
Deirdre Montague”
“My mum in a million rose was disappointing , the rose was not packaged well. Leaves in the box loose where they had dropped off some yellow, I took it out and it was limp I watered straight away and am hoping it will survive!”
“Having researched a number of websites for an anniversary rose for my parents Emerald anniversary we ordered from Carbeth last Monday morning and paid for next day delivery. Tuesday evening I emailed to say it hadn't arrived and requested my delivery charge to be refunded which it was. The rose eventually turned up Thursday afternoon. Already disappointed with length of time for delivery, even more disappointing was the fact that the rose, advertised with a lovely green ribbon perfect for an emerald anniversary, arrived with a white ribbon. The rose seemed pretty healthy considering it was 4 days in transit, some leaves snapped off probably due to being dry.
I emailed Carbeth, received an apology and was told to get in touch if they could help further.
Overall not very impressed and wouldn't look to use them again.”
“The order arrived quickly but the delivered sections of rhubarb crown were very dry and looked dead. Have planted them but the crowns have started to go mushy. Am disappointed.”
“I was very disappointed with my little tree. It looked quite damaged & had also been pruned quite hard. The leaves had pest bites. I only hope it will survive as I bought it as a present as a remembereace tree for a friend.”
“I was disappointed with my marguerite daisies when they arrived they must have been in the post too long! They were shrivelled with yellow leaves not acceptable to pass on as a gift. I watered them hoping they would recover. Not well”
“Ordered a 3 pack of blueberry plants, unfortunately only received 2!
Emailed stating this 5 days ago, but no response. Yet?
The plants we did receive were very healthy and arrived promptly”
“Your own service upon order was great but your carriers was not and I have written to you today asking for a full refund as I still don’t have the roses and don’t want them after they have been in a van/ in a depot for 6 days”
