“searching for well priced batteris prior to Christmas and found Battery Staion. Couldn't believe the prices. Initially thought it was for trade only. Cpmpared with supermarket prices for AA's these are a revalation. Delivery was good too. I'll be back. Thank you.”

“Very quick delivery. However these batteries are very slightly larger than an ordinary battery- making fitting 3 batteries together in a battery compartment tricky- I ended putting 2 of these rechargeable s in together with 1 ordinary battery in the holder to get them to fit in”

Hi Don, Most rechargable AA batteries are slightly wider in diameter than alkaline batteries, but they are still within the tolerance of the IEC sizes for AA batteries. If a manufacturer has created a battery compartment that is very tight, it may be that they are either not respecting the tolerance, or they are intentionally trying to force users, to stick to alkaline batteries. Alkaline batteries are 1.5V where as rechargeable batteries are 1.2V. If for example there are 4 in series, that is a voltage drop of 1.2V across the whole set, which may mean that the equipment does not work as intended. This is especially noticeable in toys with motors, devices with speakers and can even affect some radio devices. So when manufacturers mention 'alkaline batteries required' in their instructions, it is very often for a reason. We would really discourage you using a mix of alkaline batteries and rechargeable batteries together as the resistance on them is different, and you may get odd results. “Good service is hard to come by theses days, no sooner I had order they were on the way, the only thing is I wish the Corrier had placed the parcel inside the porch, which was left unlocked for that purpose, instead they left it outside on the step, good job it was not raining.”
