“Had a request from a friend in South Africa to get her a pair of Backdoor shoes, after calling them they were able to find a pair in the size and design she wanted and dispatched them to me in double quick time . Kathy was very happy on receiving them as they are the only ones she will wear around the house and garden, her last ones lasted her 3 years .”

“There are many imitations out there. Don't be put off if you have tried these and not got on with them. Backdoor shoes are totally different. They are very comfortable and durable. I use them for all my gardening, also for driving and even as indoor shoes. They are comfortable as slippers but also supportive.”

“I use my Backdoor shoes for trips to the greenhouse and short walks with the dog at night. They are also fine for light gardening work if it's not too wet. Very easy to slip on and off thanks to the advice to order one size more than your normal shoe size! I made a mistake on my original order which was spotted by Blackshoes and I was able to correct it before despatch. My wife also has a pair. Excellent value and service.”

“My first pair were a present and have been much loved.Nearly twenty years later (I think) I have just purchased my next pair. They are sturdy, easy to slip on and, above all, very comfortable . Beautifully packaged, too. Well worth the money.”

“I loved my first pair of size 5 Backdoor shoes and they have lasted for ages. I recently ordered a new pair on the internet, again size 5, but they do seem to be bigger and a slightly different shape to my first pair. I will probably order some insoles and hope that will make them more comfortable. Christine Harris”

Hello Christine, Thank you for your review and we’re sorry to see that we didn’t make our usual 5star rating. We always aim for a 5 * and 95% of the time that’s what we get. We have been making backdoorshoes in the same mould for around 17 years . There is slight variation as far as size is concerned when we use different sole colours . “Delighted with the quality and fit of my Backdoor shoes. Very easy to slip on and off - and the small retaining heel support stops any worry of losing a shoe in the garden! A great find.”

“I just bought my second pair of backdoorshoes, the first having lasted me many years of frequent use before finally wearing out. They're light to wear, supportive and comfortable, and easy to slip in and out of to prevent bringing the outside in.”

“Lovely website easy to use however I take a ladies size 8 ( 42) so had to order the mens garden shoe in a EU size 9 (43) but these were soo small couldn't get them on very disappointed”

Hello Wendy , Thank you for your valued feedback - We would of course like 5 stars and always aim to get everything correct to make all our customers happy. So far we’ve done pretty well as you’ll see from our ratings . We’re sorry you are not satisfied. Sizing information is we hope very clear on the website - A ladies 8 is a size 41 . We appreciate that some manufacturers say it’s a 42 . Men’s sizing is completely different so whilst you thought you were doing the right thing by going up to a men’s 43 your would have actually needed to go up to a men’s 44 in order to get one size bigger than the ladies 8 which you didn’t buy which we feel is a generous ladies 8 .
