Over the years, I have tried dozens of “how to play guitar” courses - some free & some that cost you. I can honestly say that YGA was where I stopped looking and trying - AND really began to learn! The courses are incredibly well-structured, supporting materials you can download and print, and the level of instruction is incredibly professional. Dan Holton, Ollie and the rest of the instructors are really able to teach properly - something most other guitar courses simply don’t do. Sure, the people doing these videos can really play, but they aren’t teachers. Do yourself a real favour and take a look at the YGA course offerings. I suggest starting with the Theory Lab course (amazing), the CAGED system courses and then Pentatonic Mastery. From there in the sky is the limit. Oh - yes, you do pay for the courses, but the cost is incredibly low and worth every penny.

Good instruction! Would like a little more variety on new things to practice or maybe it’s there and I’m not sure how to access it.

I have found the YGA club, and tailored pathway absolutely invaluable - the process and methods Dan & the YGA team use - just work for me so well, and id be hard pressed to believe they wont work for everyone! By using layering with CAGED, Pentatonics and some foundational music theory - you are so far down the road in quite quick time - I still consider YGA a real 'untapped secret' in the world of online Guitar learning ....but im super confident (and hope) it gets out there a LOT more - it really is that good! The club is such awesome value and has support and a community should you want/need it - I wholeheartedly love YGA, and have for some time! if i could give 6 stars I would - try it out - see for yourself - take your time, give the process the best chance & enjoy a lifetime of learning and creativity on the axe

The YGA club is a super affordable way to develop a practice habit that moves through all the phases of learning guitar so you can advance at a steady rate across the fretboard. I really enjoy the Soundslice moving tabs. Play along with a metronome or backing track and as you gain confidence with the rhythm and licks, remove the guitar and hear only yourself. I own most of the YGA course materials, and thought the club would be a waste of time. I was wrong. It brings everything into better focus and has been a wonderful and enjoyable way to progress beyond the beginners circle.

I picked up the guitar 12 months ago and scoured you tube for advice not wanting to go to lessons just studying on my own time . I started with YGA 30-day beginner course after a while I realized I needed some structure in my study and YGA has given me this . after becoming a member and given a pathway I am more stable on my journey the facilities that come with being a member are good to eg. the tabs and soundslices that come with the course I would thoroughly recommend YGA for your guitar journey very challenging at some stages but very fulfilling once you get it.
