“I have joined YGA about a month ago and I have to say even in that short time I have noticed an improvement in my playing. Mainly I think concentrating more on my technique and taking my time to learn something methodology, this is where yga seems to do very well.
I could sit down and write positives about this guitar teaching for ages there are no negatives to write about every teacher on this course is genuinely passionate about what they do and this reflects on my learning. To cut a long story short you can't go wrong with this website and is great value for money, don't think about it just join you will see massive improvement in your playing and most of all its great fun.”
“The Blues Day was an amazing opportunity to 'jam' with others under the excellent tuition of Dan. Not only was it thoroughly enjoyable but I came away inspired to get better and with plenty of things to work on to improve my playing. Highly recommended...”
“Best site I've found for learning guitar and I've tried most of the big names. The difference here is the lessons are structured around what you need to do to improve and provide clear ways to practice. Subscription is month by month and includes a video review which takes online learning to the next level. If you're on the fence I'd defo recommend giving it a go!”
“The YGA club takes a very comprehensive approach to instruction, covering both how to play (with multiple-angle videos and written materials) as well as related music theory. The combination makes a enjoyable approach to learning the guitar. I would highly recommend them.”
“I’ve been playing guitar for years, but have never properly understood how the various scales and modes can be used in a practical way to take my playing to the next level. I have used several online tutors – all of which have been beneficial to some extent, but I have struggled to settle on a structured approach targeting my needs.
Then I stumbled upon YGA Club, and I am so grateful to Dan and the YGA team for their brilliantly structured and inspirational guidance and lessons. This is exactly what I was looking for, and I am pleased to say that my playing has taken a big leap forward. The only problem is that I find it so inspiring that my wife is starting to complain that I spend too much time playing guitar!
Keep up the great work YGA!”
“Hiya,
The programme that I'm participating in is technique I.e twisted fingers, scales.
If you put the time in you'll improve a thousand fold.
I spend 30 45 mins on twisted fingers starting each session from the beginning, I'm thrilled at what I'm achieving
Firstly, the closeness of my left hand fingers is to the fretboard how light my touch has become, been aware of relaxing my shoulders and breathing.
My right hand picking has improved with minimum forward and back swing of the pick also that I'm using the tip rather than half of the pick ha ha,
The pentatonic scales I follow the same course of practice. As Dan refers to other pentatonic I had to learn them and in the process in bringing them up to speed.
Reverting to the songs that I play acoustically I have noticed a distinct improvement in my timing and also the ability to include riffs to fill and spice it up. I have learnt the ability to mix harmony and chords together.
I have a long way to go but in 5 weeks the transformation is self evident. It has given me the extra motivation to go one better.
One important thing I do is if I make a mistake I'll stop and start again and won't move forward till everything is executed without mistakes.
I hope this gives you some idea. Without your input it won't happen the old saying of taking a horse to water but you can't make it drink comes to mind. You got to want to do it, everyday practice . William”
“It's been a pleasure going through YGA classes for the past few months. I've been playing guitar for the past ten years, with on and off periods, and more seriously for the past two years. Since a weekly teacher can be out of budget for some, I have mostly been learning from internet ressources.
But it's still pretty hard to get everything I need to learn from videos, and I'm always looking for the best option for my level of playing and the style I want to master - these past few months, the blues has been my focus.
Dan's blues classes have been exceptional for my journey, a lot clicked. I especially like how he takes the time to show us how to use the licks, rhythms, riffs, etc in other contexts. I think the most difficult thing to learn from videos is improvisation, and this is a huge step in the right direction. I've also tackled on players studies which I found really enjoyable and useful in reinforcing my blues knowledge and playing.
Thanks to YGA for the experience so far!”
“I highly recommend the YGA courses for guitar development and training. YGA has a clear system of progress where I can log my daily practice time. And besides practice, there is also theory embedded in it. The video presentations are clear, colorful and from multiple angles. There is also a play-along moving score which can be set at different speeds. And there is also an online community forum which is very supportive. The teachers are very professional with a very high skill level and great teaching skills. Overall, the course is a fabulous way to upgrade your playing!”
