“Recently, I've used 5% Permethrin Cream regularly. This purchase saw my first use of the cream made by Morningside, rather than Sandoz. I was really disappointed with the Morningside Permethrin.
Both manufacturers supply 30g metal tubes with plastic screw tops.
Sandoz Permethrin is of a uniform consistency that I'd expect of a cream, compared with an ointment, for example. The Sandoz cream had a very good cutaneous spread. Sandoz Permethrin had cream throughout the entire body of its tube.
Although I appreciate both creams are manufactured and sold by w/w, I can only hope there actually was 30g in each tube as, there was a marked difference in quality between the two manufacturers. Morningside Permethrin is a thin, runny, messy cream that I regrettably bought two tubes of. Each Morningside tube had large air gaps in it. With hindsight, they were needed to shake the cream back into a usable consistency.
I would recommend Sandoz Permethrin Cream over Morningside. My choice of Morningside on this occasion, had to do with short term availability, rather than economy.
Ironically, Lyclear 5% dermal cream by Omega Pharma Ltd which is the most well known UK brand, is also always the most expensive Permethrin Cream OTC yet, the NHS indicative price is by far the cheapest — below £6! A much more realistic price than its usual RRP of £10.50>”
