Hi Yvonne,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us; I am very sorry to hear that this treatment has not been effective for your weight loss journey.
We have escalated your feedback to our clinical team and they have advised that the objective of Orlistat is to help reprogram your body and your behaviours to be able to maintain lifestyle changes; these include a varied low-fat diet (with portion control) and regular physical activity.
You may see early weight loss results after 4 weeks of use when it is combined with a weight-reducing diet and exercise; however, on average the expected weight loss is normally about 10% of your overall weight over 6 months.
Orlistat only prevents some of the fat that you eat from being absorbed, just under a third. This treatment has no effect on other calorie sources such as carbohydrates, sugars, and alcohol; it is important to be aware of how many calories you are consuming from other sources as well.
It is also important to distinguish between the treatment working effectively and a common side effect; the absence of a side effect does not equate to a medication error.
Customer satisfaction is very important to us and our support team has reached out to you directly to provide further guidance,
