“The carpet I ordered was a stair runner of 60cm. I just assumed the underlay and gripper would be the same, but the underlay was 80cm long and nearly twice the depth of each stair and the grippers were over 90cm long so a lot of cutting needed to be done. Would of been easier to just by a roll of underlay 60cm wide.”

Our gripper and underlay packs are designed as universal kits to ensure they suit the wide range of stair runner sizes and styles our customers choose. This does mean that some trimming is required during installation, particularly to suit narrower runner widths like the 60cm you selected.
We completely understand how it would be more convenient to receive materials cut to exact size, but by supplying standard lengths, we’re able to keep the kits flexible, efficient, and cost-effective for all types of staircases. Your fitter should always trim the materials as needed for the best fit.
