Established as a home-based business in 2017 when our border collie pup, Denver, joined the family. Since then our business has grown rapidly alongside this fluff ball who still acts as our ambassadog and chief tester of many products.

“Well made and sturdy. It gets a 5 for overall design and strength, but this is reduced to a three because the hard base digs into your backside/back, whichever way you adjust the straps. This would only be rectified by a padded section at the base agains your back. I will improvise one if I can, but I wish it came like that. As it is I could not carry it with my dog in it for more than 10 minutes. If I cannot find a solution, the review score maybe should be less.”

Hello Sophie, Glad you like it. It's a shame you can't get quite comfortable with it. We will mention this to Kurgo, they may do something about this with future designs.

“Bought this for our trip to the lakes It was great not having to worry about Millie as she’s getting on a bit . Great for walking around busy places. Don’t think the heavy buckles are necessary and probably be easier if it had handles on the sides to lift it on and off my husbands back but still a great product and would recommend it .”

“I use a dog backpack nearly every day, so I need it to be comfortable and safe for my dog. This ticks all the boxes, and it is the first one that I have had that has decent storage for all the other bits I need on a dog walk. Very pleased, highly recommended”

“This backpack is okay for a dog that is happy to sit in it. If you have a wriggly puppy who wants to get on the ground is is no good because you can't manage them effectively. There is a strap to hold them in but they can still climb out of the bag. The quality of the bag is good but for me absolutely not the right product.”

Hello Laura, Sorry to hear that you weren't completely satisfied with your purchase. Unfortunately, not all dogs will tolerate being kept in the bag for a long time. We do have other brands of dog carrying bags however, if your dog is not comfortable within the Kurgo G-Train which is one of our best carriers, they may not be happier in another brand. As long as your original order is in new condition you can return it to Mountain Dog HQ for a return or exchange if there is another bag you are interested in. “An excellent dog rucksack. We are still waiting on our pup to arrive but feel that the Kurgo G Train will be perfect. A little more expensive than many other pup/dog rucksacks on the market, but the quality shows straight away. The straps are the right width to help disperse the weight. It can also convert to a bag, the straps are tickers out of the way so as not to get caught when loading in a car or on an aircraft. Hi All in all, a great rucksack, can’t wait for the pup to arrive.”

“Very high quality product with vast number of pockets and sleeves for phones, laptops water bottles and an excellent range of adjustable straps to ease weight load and avoid backache. Not the lightest product but arguably the must secure, safe and well made.”

“The quality of these bags is immense, great strap to secure the bag around the waist and across the chest for maximum stability for your dog. We purchased one initially and tried our Westie in it. With a little encouragement (treats) he was happy to go in it, and so I bought a second one for our Bichon Frise. We have been out on a test walk with them in it, and both dogs were quite happy. Great quality bags, sturdy and fully adjustable. Highly recommended.”
