I have been making beerworks kits for years and usually make the very pokey Imperial Russian Stout! I recently made the double ipa and this was pretty good but very strong. I also usually barrel my beer but owing to this lockdown, the beer didn’t get drunk as fast so I decided to bottle this brew. And the result is excellent! Not too strong (5%?) and very drinkable. Perhaps the best brew I’ve ever made. No hint of homebrew taint that one sometimes gets. A good clean white head and crystal clear beer. Left for four weeks to mature. All friends and family give it the thumbs up. Highly recommended.

Have done two of these - both turned out well. Has that citrus tang without being overpowering. A bit like a Shipyard if you are familiar. I added an extra 250g of sugar to the second batch - it can take it without altering the taste. I would recommend this as a safe brew, but gonna try something a bit different next time.

First time brewing. I brewed with the starter kits and Grolsch style bottles for the second stage. As it was my first time brewing I got everyone to try for their opinions. Work, friends and family. All very positive reviews. Very much a quality American Pale Ale.

Lovely beer. The citra hops just set it off from the norm. First brew I’ve had crystal clear finish.

I've tried many (most?) of the beer kits on offer in the Beerworks range. Every so often I have friends round to try the latest selection of beers and this is always the favourite - for everyone. What you're getting is a light amber beer with a huge hoppy citrus hit from the Citra hops - really flavoursome and fresh (think Punk IPA but even more punky!). 5% is a great strength too, a lower strength and the beer lacks something, a higher strength can bring out the taste of the alcohol - in between for that sweet-spot. There's little bitterness too, just enough. This beer is actually better than most pub beers so if you're trying to decide which kit to go for, this is my recommendation. The flavour is superb and the beer is drinkable almost immediately after secondary fermentation (some of the beers really need a couple of months of conditioning to mellow). I have no idea how good this beer could get after a couple of months, its never lasted that long. I love my beer and want the best results so I use an immersion heater for primary fermentation and a heat tray for secondary fermentation. I also barrel, rather than bottle, all my beer. Happy brewing!
