Cherry How is a two-bedroom, double-storey house situated in the gorgeous village of Patterdale at the southern end of Lake Ullswater.

The stone-fronted house dates back to the 1960s, and it has been fully refurbished throughout to provide a homely holiday house with plenty of space and stunning views!

All the rooms in the house, except the bathroom, have dual-aspect double-glazed windows, with views of the surrounding farmland and dramatic fells. The house is kept toasty-warm thanks to the modern electric radiators, coupled with the wood-burning stove in the living room.

Cherry How also offers a woodland garden to the rear of the house. A clearing provides spaces for outside garden furniture, and the Owners are continuously developing the space whilst taking care not to remove the natural aspect.
Accommodation Summary

Spacious living room, with original solid wood flooring, leather sofa and two chairs, new wood-burning stove, smart OLED TV with various streaming services, a DVD player and Freesat. Large dual-aspect double-glazed windows allow light to flood the room, and the views are just stunning!
Kitchen and dining area, a newly-fitted kitchen complete with induction hob and oven, dishwasher, a fridge-freezer, 4-slice toaster, kettle, microwave and a good selection of pots, pans, crockery and utensils. Gather at the dining table, placed in front of the large window, to graze while watching the local Herdwick sheep graze.
Off the kitchen is a walk-in pantry with shelves to store the groceries and a walk-in utility room with iron, ironing board, vacuum and hanging space for wet coats and walking gear and a door leading to the side of the property.
Under the stairs is a utility cupboard with a washing machine.
Upstairs are the two bedrooms, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Both provide luxury Egyptian cotton bed sheets, fitted wardrobes, dressing tables and duel-aspect windows, taking in the fabulous lake district views.
Modern family bathroom with bath and shower over, basin, toilet and cupboard storage. Windows overlooking the rear private garden area.

Things To Note

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Parking is available for two cars.

This is our 3rd stay at this lovely, comfortable well equipped cottage in an idyllic location. It is an ideal location for walking and exploring the lakes, the views from the cottage are fantastic. The cottage is spotlessly clean, with all amenities to enjoy your stay. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the garden admiring the views, and cosied up in front of the log burner on colder nights. We would definitely recommend and hope to be back.

We've just spent a fantastic long weekend at Cherry How - the cottage is beautiful - warm, well-equipped and comfortable, but even better is it's location and the stunning views from the many windows (even on grey, misty days!). The cottage was also perfectly placed for many walks (including Hellvelyn, Ullswater Way and Angle Tarn) - we didn't have to drive once over the weekend. Many thanks for a really lovely stay - highly recommended!

This dear little cottage has been recently very tastefully renovated. A great deal of thought has been given to guest's comfort, especially in the well equipped kitchen with Bosch and Durolit equipment and a large fridge freezer. Its light and airy with views from every room. The cottage is very compact and is in the grounds of the large house next door, note, the gardens arent dog proof but no guests were staying whilst I was there. There is a constant stream of walkers heading for the fells on the little lane outside and its possible to find excellent walks is all directions. The beds are firm, so take a mattress topper if, like me, a little more padding is preferred. The smart TV can be a challenge but thats probably down to user error! Theres a great supply of seasoned logs. The wifi is excellent. I did miss a local "pubby" pub with real ale and a walkers bar but many places were closed for redecoration.

Cherry How is an amazing cottage in the most beautiful of settings. My husband and I stayed at Cherry How with our daughter, son in law and tiny granddaughter. The cottage was plenty big enough for us all, including our two labradors. Fabulously placed for fell walking. We saw red squirrels nearly every morning out of the kitchen window. Can't wait to return.

Lovely property in an excellent location. Numerous fell walks from the doorstep. Pubs, cafes and a mini-market a short stroll away meant we didn't need to use our car during the week we were at Cherry How. You can walk to the steam ferry and the bus runs regularly along the lake. Pubs and cafes very dog friendly. Only negative is the lack of an enclosed garden or space for our dogs which meant late night and early morning lead walking. Not what you want when it's raining...and it rained a lot!!
