Cherry How is a two-bedroom, double-storey house situated in the gorgeous village of Patterdale at the southern end of Lake Ullswater.

The stone-fronted house dates back to the 1960s, and it has been fully refurbished throughout to provide a homely holiday house with plenty of space and stunning views!

All the rooms in the house, except the bathroom, have dual-aspect double-glazed windows, with views of the surrounding farmland and dramatic fells. The house is kept toasty-warm thanks to the modern electric radiators, coupled with the wood-burning stove in the living room.

Cherry How also offers a woodland garden to the rear of the house. A clearing provides spaces for outside garden furniture, and the Owners are continuously developing the space whilst taking care not to remove the natural aspect.
Accommodation Summary

Spacious living room, with original solid wood flooring, leather sofa and two chairs, new wood-burning stove, smart OLED TV with various streaming services, a DVD player and Freesat. Large dual-aspect double-glazed windows allow light to flood the room, and the views are just stunning!

Off the kitchen is a walk-in pantry with shelves to store the groceries and a walk-in utility room with iron, ironing board, vacuum and hanging space for wet coats and walking gear and a door leading to the side of the property.
Under the stairs is a utility cupboard with a washing machine.

Stayed in this very comfortable cottage for the weekend of my brother's wedding. The celebration took place in Patterdale and Glenridding so the cottage was very well situated. It was well equipped, comfortable and cosy. I would very much recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to use as a base to explore the beautiful area, we will definitely be back.

Cherry How was beautiful but very expensive. It was in the perfect location for what we wanted. It was well equipped, comfy beds and lovely views. It was very frustrating not being able to use the front door as it was too difficult to close and lock. The shower screen was too small and the seal to the bath also wasn't great, so having a shower constantly resulted in a soaking wet floor and window ledge.

Hi, Lovely place and we had a good holiday. Couple of points about the place (Which was great of course. Enjoyed staying here) I did actually use my headtorch a couple of times in the kitchen to cook and wash up. So maybe another light wouldn’t go amiss As I’m sure you know the tiled window sill in the bathroom slopes the wrong way meaning that there is always a lot of water collected on the sill after a shower. Not a problem for us but in the near future the window frame will rot. I’m 1.9m, not overly tall, but I found the bed really awkward to sleep in due to the raised wood at the end of the bed, so consequently slept badly. Loved the Red Squirrel that visited

Cherry How is a place where you stay for a weekend and wish you were there for a week. Positioned in an area where you are surrounded by fantastic walks, the views from the cottage and the garden are stunning. The cottage itself is pretty with all mod cons and comfy beds, couldn’t really find fault with anything. Two good size bedrooms with storage, living room has smart tv, kitchen and bathroom is new as the house has been renovated recently. Couple of pubs within a 5-10min walk and a Riverside Bar at the end of the lane is definitely worth a visit too. Patterdale is one of my favourite areas so I’m pleased to come across this lovely cottage as it somewhere I would 100% return to.
