We stayed at Mangahei Bungalow during the May bank holiday weekend, and it was honestly the most relaxing and memorable vacation we ever had! The bungalow was impeccably well-maintained, spotlessly clean, and artfully decorated. It was more than enough for our family of four (2 adults and 2 kids aged 8 and 12) with 3 huge bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a humongous kitchen and diner, and a great-sized living room. The bungalow is located on a 200-acre working dairy farm with the most picturesque views from every window of the house. The sunrise view from the living room window is something I will cherish forever. It is also at the perfect location if you want to do touristy stuff like boat cruises and fell walks. There are lots of shops, restaurants around if you don't wish to cook. However, with the beautiful kitchen overlooking the rolling greens with a mountain backdrop - I bet you would definitely want to cook. The host's attention to detail is really worth mentioning - the kitchen is equipped with everything right from a salad bowl to a gorgeous barbeque and everything that you would need for it.       The only thing better than the awesome bungalow was the great views it offered, and the only thing better than the splendid views was our wonderful and generous hostess - Ruth!!! She is the most genuine, generous, and wonderful person I have ever come across. She not only opened her house but also her heart to us. It was late by the time we reached, and we didn't have time to get any grocery shopping done. As soon as we reached, she came over to ask if we were alright and that if we needed anything. The moment she realized we needed some ingredients for breakfast - she immediately offered to bring us some stuff from her kitchen. She was great with our kids and graciously offered to take them over to her farm to feed the lambs. She even brought over some wellies for them, as we didn't have any. Our kids got to experience the wonders of farm life thanks to Ruth! They fed the animals, helped in milking the cows, rode the tractor! My younger one particularly grew attached to Daisy - their rabbit. Ruth was kind enough to offer to keep Daisy with us for the night so that our daughter could spend more time with her. They had the best time ever.       She has some amazing ideas for the property for the future, and I for one can't wait to be back. It has only been a day since we came back but I am already looking at booking our next vacation at Mangahei!

A weekend mountain biking in the lakes was made even better with Ruth and this accommodation. The bungalow really was perfect and in immaculate condition when we arrived. We'll definitely be booking again that's for sure.

We regularly visit the lakes and we’re looking for a last minute night away and came across this site. When I say this is the perfect spot for visiting the lakes I mean it! 10 minutes from the M6 and Penrith it was really easy to find. 15 minutes away from Keswick and 15 from aria force where we went for a beautiful walk up gowbarrow fell. I have to say the biggest perk of this stay was meeting the cutest highland cows. Closely followed by the most beautiful sunrise over the fields and fells the next morning. From the farm we went to the sportsman’s inn for tea which took us about 5 minutes to walk down the drive. We were told it has recently been taken over and the food was lovely. The house was beautiful, clean, cozy and comfortable. They had thought of everything and they had everything we could possibly need for a mini break. I’m sad we only stayed for a night and will definitely be booking for longer next time!
