Mangahei Bungalow in Berrier, is conveniently located an 11-minutes drive from the M6, a 16-minutes drive away from Keswick, and a 16-minutes drive from Pooley Bridge, which benefits from a hillside position with tremendous views of the farm and to the Pennines.

The self-catering bungalow has been refurbished throughout. Access from the large paved parking area into the spacious hallway off-of-which is the spacious living room with comfortable seating, a wall-mounted flat-screen Free View TV and the fabulous lob-burning stove. The large east-facing window is a picture, with splendid views! Opposite the living room is the large kitchen and dining area, separated by the breakfast counter. The kitchen is well-equipped with pots, pans, crockery, cutlery etc. Off of the kitchen is the WC, utility room, suitable for storing walking gear or bicycles, and the door to the rear garden and patio.

In addition to the living room and kitchen is the house bathroom, decorated with lovely slate tiles, and features a walk-in shower, basin and loo, and there three bedrooms.

Agree with Corrine S and Rebecca R reviews. 7 months later nothing has changed. Property cold when we arrived, and had to wait for night storage heaters to kick in - for those that worked. Did warm up the next day, but towel rail not work to dry towels, which was known. Where old storage heater replaced with smaller heater, bare plaster showing, and not been painted. Information upon arrival be helpfull - like local restaurants, places to go, recycling etc. No Wi-Fi at the property.

The bungalow was very clean, spacious, comfortable and just what we needed. It is on a farm in a quiet area but easy to get to the A66 and local to Keswick and Penrith. Great to watch out of the window at the farm vehicles. Comfortable beds, good facilities. The hot tub was a very welcome addition at the end of busy days of walking. Lovely garden. Owners were welcoming and helpful but also respected our privacy. There is a good restaurant and bar within walking distance. We had a lovely stay, thank you.

Excellent location and it was entertaining to watch the tractors going past the windows. The hosts were welcoming and the cottage was warm and peaceful. The hot tub is large and feels luxurious.

Staying here was okay but not great. Location wise spot on for the northern lakes. It was basic, beds not comfy, floorboards creaked everywhere and the rooms were cold, apart from the bunkroom which was too hot and we couldn't turn the heating down. Great hot tub but needed better maintenance, it wasnt very clean, we did tell the owners and in fairness they did adjust the chemical balance of the water straight away. The shower just ran over the tray so we had to remove the plug section. No instructions for the house or for amenities nearby were left either. It's a shame because it's a nice place, was clean but could be fantastic, just needs to be more of a home from home and not just a money spinner.

We booked this place based off of the super king bed available (twin room) as we’re both tall and needed a bed without a foot board. But on arrival although we’d paid for the entire priority only the master room was set up for use. The overall building needs a bit of TLC and a deep clean. Such as marks on the mirror and grease on the table. Also small things missing which would have made it much nicer like fresh milk being left on arrival especially when on a dairy farm. Felt odd that s dairy farmer left uht milk… Only two towels left so spent a lot of time trying to wash and dry to use for showers and hot tub use. Shower power also lacking

Dear Rebecca, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your recent stay at Mangahei Bungalow. I am sorry that the property didn't meet your expectations. I have shared your feedback with the property owners to investigate shortfalls, as it certainly isn't usual. Unfortunately, the Owners would be breaking food safety law if they provided you with unpasteurised milk directly from the farm. Once again, thank you for taking the time to provide your valuable feedback.
