Church View Cottage is a wonderful, family-friendly and dog-friendly self-catering cottage within walking distance of Kendal Town Centre and its many shops, restaurants and bars, museums and the Brewery Arts Centre. The traditional stone terraced cottage overlooks St George’s Parish Church and diagonally onto Gooseholme park and the River Kent.

The cottage is conveniently close to Kendal Train Station and Bus Station with links to Windermere, Ambleside and further afield to Keswick as well as London, Manchester and Scotland via Oxenholme Station on the West Coast mainline, which makes it perfect for walkers who wish to explore the Lakes or Fells.

The Cottage includes:

Ground Floor

Living room with parquet flooring, sofa and a settee, wall-mounted TV and decorative fireplace. View to the front and onto St George’s Parish Church.
Kitchen with fridge, dishwasher, gas hob and two electric ovens, microwave, toaster and kettle.
Dining room with full-width fold-back doors and a dining table seating up to six guests.
Utility room with washing machine and separate WC.
Small rear yard with bin store.

First Floor

Family bathroom with free-standing roll-top bath, a separate walk-in shower with two shower heads, WC and basin.
Bedroom 1 - Double bedroom with decorative fireplace, original wooden flooring, window seat with views of the Church.

Second Floor

Bedroom 2 - Bunk beds, suitable for children, with views to the rear and a sky-light window, original exposed wooden beams.

Things To Note:

Church View self-catering cottage is an old building, and with many buildings of its time, the stairs are narrower and slightly steeper than current standards which may not be suitable for physically disabled guests or small children.
Free street parking is available to the front and surrounding streets.
The fireplaces, whilst original features, are no longer operational.

The cottage is very convenient for town and the local amenities but feels like it's resting on its laurels because of this. It is tired and in need of some sprucing up. I appreciate that it is trying to retain a quaint cottage feel yet the furniture is uncomfortable, particularly the beds. New coats of paint are needed throughout the house, screws need tightening, cracks repairing etc. It is in a lovely location and the neighbours are very friendly. Parking is OK but be prepared to park a short walk away on occasion.

Was a really lovely property to serve as home base for our trip. Really loved the Victorian bath, and the eating area with the lovely sky lights and spacious table. Close to both trains and buses so great access to all walks and Lake District towns.

The house was perfect for us. The street was very quiet and we fell like at home. The only problem is in the shower there was a leak, but It wasn't a problem for us

Church View Cottage was very clean and well equipped, and was nicer in reality than the pictures. We really enjoyed the location, and especially the welcoming neighbours. The cosy front garden was ideal for sitting out on an evening and enjoying the fresh air after a busy day out in the Lakes.

Fantastic holiday cottage experience. Excellent communication from the host, easy access instructions, immaculately clean and very comfortable family accommodation. A great location for exploring all that the beautiful Lakes has to offer. We all wished we could stay longer. Will definitely be booking again!

Fabulous stay in beautiful Kendal. Perfect location and a lovely cottage to relax in after exploring. Some nice take away and restaurants close by and lots of walks and places of interest to go to. It would have been nice to have a freezer for ice for drinks
