Woodland Critters Clothkits® Classic Padded Jacket, Children's Dressmaking Kit Orange Reviews

Made two of these over thirty years ago and I’ve made two of the latest jackets…. The only issue I’ve had is with fixing the toggles to the jacket, I’ve found that the best way is to use a piece of the bias binding folded in half lengthwise to go through the toggle and then I can just sew this to the jacket. Unfortunately I have just done this and discovered that I have used all my binding and forgot that I had only bound one of the sleeves! So maybe a little more binding in the kit would have been good.

I bought this to sew up for my granddaughter. Her mum and aunties all had versions of the farm jacket and loved the animals to play with. Great colours.

I recently bought and made the farmyard jacket for my grandson as my son had one I made when he was little. My daughter in law liked it so much, and hadn't seen one before, looked at your website and asked me to make the woodland one in a bigger size.

Did not care for the instructions so just looked at the fabric and It's very simple to put together . Did not realise I would not get a pattern. I made two.. a six month and a 3 year old. Turned out lovely .

This was a very enjoyable make, with good instructions. The bias edgings were a bit of a challenge but hand basting and careful positioning worked. I quilted by hand rather than using the machine and was pleased with the results. The woodland critters were less detailed in shape than I had anticipated, but were enthusiastically received and stored, so all in all a success for the maker and the recipient. If I were making another, I may consider inserting a two way chunky zip.

My sons (now in their 40s) wore Clothkits when they were very young. I bought this kit for my grandson with a sense of nostalgia. It was easy to put together but I was disappointed with the finished result. The length for his age group was fine but it was far too baggy round the chest even allowing for a jumper to be worn underneath. Because of the pattern design it was difficult to re-cut it so it has been abandoned.

My sister and I had time to make these jackets for my 2 granddaughters in lock down last year, as our name is Woodland I bought the kits of Woodland critters incase it wasn't available when granddaughters would be big enough to wear them, now nearly 2 and 3 I will be giving them the jackets this Christmas. Jackets padded so better for a 3 years and older age group.
