Love this product. Started off on 0.1 and worked up to 0.2 over a year. Multitasker, it is my one stop nighttime routine. Sometimes use a moisturiser after, if my skin is in need of TLC. Skin feels smooth and looks refreshed in the morning.

I was really happy with this product for about a year and had worked my way up to the 0.2% strength which I was using for over 6 months. Then over the space of about two weeks my skin started reacting to it. Frown lines were red, I had puffy red bags under my eyes and itchy marks on my neck that looked like I'd survived a hanging. I didn't immediately associate it with this and just started applying moisturiser throughout the day to no avail. I noticed a small improvement on days when I'd skipped the Retinal the night before and as soon I stopped using it everything cleared up within a week. Even now after a month off, if I apply a little at night I get red and itchy the following day. It's disappointing because I thought I'd found something that was really working in the short term and would hopefully reduce long term ageing effects but for whatever reason my skin doesn't like it anymore. I might go back to the 0.5% at some point but for now it's dented my confidence in fancy skincare products and I'm taking a break.

Hi Greg, I’m really sorry you’ve had such a reaction after a year of use. That sounds frustrating. A few steps that may help: - Stop using the Retinal 0.2% for now and give your skin time to settle. - If redness or irritation persists beyond a week, consider checking in with a dermatologist. - When you’re ready to try again, consider a patch test first and reintroduce very slowly (e.g., 1–2 days on, several days off) or opt for a lower-strength option. - In the meantime, focus on a gentle, hydrating routine and avoid other actives that could irritate the skin. If you’d like, I can help you explore milder alternatives that suit sensitive skin. Thanks Team Facetheory

I purchased the 0.1% after using a 0.05% from another brand for around a year. I never experienced any irritation from the 0.05%, and my skin seems to be adapting well to the facetheory 0.1%. Ive only been using it for a couple of weeks but already notice my skin is brighter, more even, and a bit glowy. I can't comment on whether it will smooth any fine lines just yet, as this would probably take quite a few months, but early impressions are that my skin tolerates it well and looks visibly improved already. I started with every other day application for the first week and then increased to every day after that. The only negative effect I've noticed was a tiny bit of flakiness recently, but not enough for anyone else to notice as it was such a small amount, and presumably it's just my skin getting used to the different rate of turnover. I'll carry on layering a light moisturiser over this so that my skin stays hydrated. Overall, very happy and would recommend this product.

Hi Amy, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the 0.1% product. We’re delighted to hear that your skin is adapting well and that you’re already seeing brighter, more even, and glowy-looking skin. It’s great that you started slowly and increased usage gradually, as that can really help the skin adjust. A little flakiness can sometimes happen while your skin gets used to a retinoid, so it’s good that you’re keeping it hydrated with a light moisturiser. We really appreciate your thoughtful feedback and recommendation. We’re so pleased it’s working well for you so far. Thanks, Facetheory Team

I have been using this consistently for about 6-9 months now and I must say that my skin looks brighter and more even. In terms of wrinkles I haven’t noticed anything really. I definitely had to work my way up to using it regularly and still only use it every other night. I do recommend it as I have noticed a clear improvement in my skin quality.

Thanks Facetheory Team

I don’t even know where to start…let’s say the product makes my face so orange I look like a carrot. I can’t even comment on the product’s effectiveness as I’m so ashamed to wear it around the house that I only use it sporadically. Definitely not recommended.

Hi Caterina, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with our Retinal Supreme Multi-Cream 0.2% we're truly sorry to hear it's left your skin looking orange and made you hesitant to use it. That "carrot" effect isn't the glow we aim for, and we appreciate you letting us know so we can help. This can sometimes happen with retinal products due to temporary oxidation or pH adjustment on the skin, especially if applied too generously or without building tolerance. To get the best results. Use it 2–3 nights a week to start, then build up to nightly use. Apply a pea-sized amount to clean, dry skin. Always follow with SPF in the morning. You can also check our FAQ for more tips on retinal introduction. Thanks Facetheory Team
