“What areas did you like about our website? I thought the website was very well organized. It was easy to find the programs by the country of choice along with specific information about the programs. I liked the easy breakdown of fees and contact information was easily available. How did you find the pre departure booklet given to you and the service of the staff in regards to answering your questions and helping you prepare? I think the Pre - departure booklet was very very helpful. It provided all the necessary information and all the little details were very helpful. The contact people in both Kenya and the main Volunteering Solutions Office in India were extremely helpful in answering questions in a timely manner. Did you enjoy working at your project / placement? I worked in a few different projects in both Mombasa and Nairobi. Mombasa: I worked with a few orphanages and schools. The projects were amazing. Nairobi: The projects were very nice in the city and the orphanage and the schools Accommodation and meals Nairobi: The volunteer house was AMAZING!! The food was really good as well. It was nice to live amongst other volunteers and share stories. Very good experience. Mombasa: The house was comfortable but there are a few improvements needed. What was the highlight of your volunteering experience and your trip? The highlight was working with the kids at the orphanage and&ldquo it was a remarkable experience. Would you recommend this program and our organization to others? yes/no Yes definitely. I think overall it was a great experience and I LOVED IT and would definitely go back one day.”

“Reviews from the past volunteers on website was very nice. It was really easy to browse and obtain information about programs. Pre departure was extremely helpful. It provided with all the necessary information required for the program. I very much enjoyed working at my placement. Staff at the placement was very helpful and taught a lot of stuff. The placement provided with lots of hands on experience. The highlight of my volunteering trip was working at clinic and obtaining tremendous amount of hands on experience along with visiting the orphanage giraffe center and meeting other volunteers from all over the globe. Accommodation was clean and if anything needed to be fixed it was done immediately. Meals cooked by Mercy were amazing. They were healthy and delicious. I will surely recommend Volunteering Solutions to anyone who is looking for true healthcare volunteering experience.”

“I liked the website. The amazing thing was destinations as we can see the programs sorted by destination. The information booklet was very complete. The general service of the staff regarding the answers to my questions was very good and helpful. I enjoyed working at the project and placement where I had the possibility to work. My experience was very good I would repeat it if I have the possibility to do it. Regarding the accommodation we had stains falling directly on our beds for 3-4 nights due to the rains. The meals were good in quality and quantity. The coordinator was very helpful I would surely recommend Volunteering Solutions to others.”

“The pre departure booklet was good and informative. I really really love my program placement as well. The highlight of my volunteering experience was the kids. On flower day - all children put flowers on their heads which was very nice too. Accommodation and Meals both were very good. Our coordinator was also very helpful and always there to help. I would surely recommend Volunteering Solutions to friends and family.”

“The website is very informative with pictures which was helpful. The pre departure booklet was really helpful to get a first impression of what expected us here in Kenya. The staff of Volunteering Solutions was also very helpful. The project was really interesting. It was a good experience to teach the children and help out with sorting beans and washing shoes etc. The highlight was helping out the children and our trip to Mt. Longonot and Naivasha. Mercy is a very good cook I really enjoyed the meals. The accommodation was also nice and safe. I would definitely recommend Volunteering Solutions.”

“How did you find the pre departure booklet given to you and the service of the staff in regards to answering your questions and helping you prepare? Carolyn: - It was very helpful in preparing me. Michelle: - The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Did you enjoy working at your project / placement? Carolyn: - Yes it was enjoyable and a great learning experience. Michelle: - Yes it was a great experience. Accommodation and meals Carolyn: - Very good. Mercy did a great job of cooking delicious food and I appreciated being able to eat some of the local food. Michelle: - The volunteer house was very nice and Mercy was great. What was the highlight of your volunteering experience and your trip? Carolyn: - Getting to see several births and C-sections was amazing. I also really enjoyed the safari. Michelle: - Observing C-section and births at the hospital. Would you recommend this program and our organization to others? yes/no Carolyn: - YES!! Michelle: - Absolutely Yes.”

“What areas did you like about our website? I liked the checklist on what needed to be done on my application and also the download for the pre departure information guide. How did you find the pre departure booklet given to you and the service of the staff in regards to answering your questions and helping you prepare? The information booklet was very helpful. I think the booklet was very thorough. Did you enjoy working at your project / placement? We greatly enjoyed working at our placement at Tigoni hospital and also a few days at the destined children&rsquo s center. Some of the doctors at the hospital were very interested in Teaching. Accommodation and meals Meals were very good. Accommodations were fine. Coordinator Our Coordinator was very helpful both before and during trip. He was very knowledgeable and experienced with helping the volunteers. What was the highlight of your volunteering experience and your trip? We had an amazing experience! There were so many highlights. Some of my favorites were just being immersed in day-to-day Kenyan life such as traveling to work in Matatus seeing how healthcare works in Kenya the opportunity to go on a Safari on weekends. Would you recommend this program and our organization to others? yes/no Absolutely YES!”
