My experience in Kenya was great ! I met amazing people from different parts of the world and got to really learn about the culture of the country. My experience at the hospital was very enriching, but I would definitely improve the communication between the hospital and the coordinators.

Amazing and interesting experience, I have learned a lot during the internship at the hospital and all the doctors were very helpful.I had also the opportunity to have some spare time and to go on Safari for 3 days. Good organisation! 5 stars, I would reccomend

It was really nice. We could help as much as we knew and we also meet gret people in the volunteer house. However, we think its price is too high.

It was an incredible journey. Volunteering Solutions accompanied me throughout the process and was always attentive to my needs, although they also gave me the freedom to build my own adventure and choose the places I wanted to visit. Thanks for everything

The medical volunteer program to Kenya with Volunteering Solutions was a fantastic experience for me! It was my first time practising medicine outside of Canada and it was also my first time in Africa! Like many others, I had no clue what to expect, but the team and the ground coordinator was able to give me all the necessary info, pick me up from the airport, and bring me to the hospital the next day and ensured a smooth transition to work from the get go. In terms of the actual medicine, it was definitely very different from what I am used to - the restraints in resources, the lack of funding, and the lack of equipment was definitely a challenge, but experienced local clinicians were still able to make things work for each and every patient, which was fascinating to me! I had a lot of fun and made a lot of friends locally, all of whom were extremely kind, outgoing, and friendly to me. Side note, if you ever do this program, make sure to also add a short (3-4 days is good) safari trip at the end!

I've spent two weeks at the medical program in Nairobi, Kenya. The coordinator was waiting for me at the airport and introduced the city to me. The volunteers' house is very clean, safe and the food can't be better. I worked at Wema Hospital, in Kawangware. My job cosisted of helping at the lab, at the doctor's room and vaccinating children. Everyone is kind and friendly. The area is quite poor but I didn't have any problem comuting with matatus and walking. The coordinator Joe always asked us how the day had gone and helped us with many issues, he's very nice. I went to the Maasai Mara safari for three days and it was one of the best experiences ever: everything was arranged for us, our driver Paul was lovely and helped us a lot, we were lucky to see the migration (August) and saw so many animals, and the food was incredible. Although it's not a professional-learning experience to me, I was able to practice a lot and see things I would have never seen in my country. I highly recommend living the experience and getting to know their culture. Asante sana Kenya!
