An excellent product which has baffled the three squirrels that used to come and eat most of the peanuts and prevent the little birds getting them.

Works very well - good to have the sunflower heart feeder now separate from the mixed seed feeder. Popular with the goldfinches, bluetits, great tits and occasional blackcap, and a great spotted woodpecker has also visited. Squirrels can't get to the seeds and haven't tried opening the top yet. The darn parakeets do use it, but mostly only if the mixed seed feeder is empty.

Disappointed that the feed container and feeding apertures are in such a position that the birds cannot reach the last inch or two of the feed. Also disappointed that the quality of the paint spraying on the wire cage was very thin, causing rust spots to appear within a week of purchase. Another engineering fault is that it is very difficult to access the feeding tube to replenish supply.

I was disappointed with the quality of the feeder. It is heavy duty and it does appear as yet to be keeping the squirrels out but it kept me out too until I took a pair of pliers to the lid. The slots in the lid that clip over the main body were both bent so the lid would not go on. Not good enough in a feeder that is quite expensive. I didn’t contact Vine Farm as I had resolved the problem and I should have gone direct to the makers- Gardman.

It's a shame they are of Chinese origin but they work well.

It arrived very promptly and is now hanging from bird-table with fat balls in it. No squirrels or jays seen trying to feed. Awaiting to see if Great-spotted Woodpeckers will be able to reach in for food.

On both feeder's the covers over the feed tubes did not fit correctly due to poor manufacture and subsequent inadequate quality assurance. Also on one of the feeder's the cover locating spigots were bent away from true. The remedy was to file away the excess metal on the lower rims of the covers to allow the covers to sit over the locating spigots and to realign the locating spigots on one of the feeders.

Providing this hangs well away from an upright the larger birds cannot access the food and so the design works well for the smaller birds.Sadly robins try to get the food but generally cannot/will not go through the mess.
