Unfortunately our purchase had to be returned as it was faulty but I have to say the refund was in my account before the arrival of the returned goods which is most impressive. Thank you.

The one we bought, which is specifically for use with fat balls, is fine apart from one aspect. The twist connection between the outer cage and the upper section can easily be rotated by a squirrel. It only needs to turn a centimetre or so and the outer and inner cages drop to the ground, complete with the fat balls. It took the squirrels about half an hour to figure this out. So I drilled a very small hole (maybe 2mm diameter) through the outer and inner rings and inserted a self tapping screw to stop the lower section rotating relative to the upper section. Problem solved - but I should not have to do that, so one star deducted!

So far the Squirrels have just sat on top looking puzzled! Using a lot less birdfeed.

I found it very hard to open and close. The birds have not used it, It is mounted on a stand which may make the small birds a bit nervous, I will try to find a more secluded spot to mount it. On a positive note it did survive the strong winds the other weekend and the squirrel has not raided it either.
