“This is an excellent winter jacket. I was not expecting to be so warm being a classic style piece, but it is really a high performance element. I usually fit an M but wear an S of this model, check measurements! The olive colour looks great for me, as it matches with the buttons and enhances the vintage look.”

“Again arrived later that web site said it would but packaged well. Quality of the coat is excellent if not on the heavy side even with the liners out. I’d take the liner out this is still a very warm coat so the warmer days you’ll need to in zip all the openings. It would benefit from additional under arm vent which it doesn’t have. Feel well protected in the coat. Fits ok”

“an absolutely superb jacket made from great quality material. recently used on a ride up to scotland and back and most of it i managed with just a t-shirt on underneath. with the lining it is extremely warm and no wind gets through, in summer it’ll be great to remove the lining and open up all the vents. love the look of the jacket, the dark olive colour goes with anything and looks lovely off the bike too. i sized down as mentioned in other reviews, usually a M but the S fitted perfectly, can still get a jumper on underneath, even with the lining. you won’t disappointed!”

“I have a few Merlin products and I have never been let down by both their quality and price. The Edale jacket is definitely testament to this. The jacket looks fantastic on and the fit is good, refer to urban riders size guide. When out on the bike the jacket allowed me to stay warm, dry, and protected from the wind in the British autumn. I have no doubt this jacket will do the same in the winter. This is an excellent autumn, winter, spring solution.”

“After some questions over fit I ordered this jacket and was pleased and impressed with the fit, feel and style. Firstly I wear an XL and prefer a snug fit. The jacket is an XL so the sizing was good for me. The fit is excellent with the jacket falling well to cover the waist and lower back. It is a heavy jacket as you would expect out of a 4 season jacket and I wore it yesterday on a 6 degree day with only a long sleeve T shirt underneath. Closure detail is top quality and my only fault is that the waist slip pockets are a tight fit for my hands (size 10). On the basis of this jacket Merlin will be my go to choice of manufacturer for bike gear”
