The Edale is a great piece of kit and the size suggestion on the video will work out for most people, i.e. go down one size. For me however it was at the limit. though I can wear the jacket and it fits well. I find that the large would have been a more comfy fit. Bit too snug under the arms and the sleeves are just a tad bit short- but really nitpicking. The out last liner works great on colder days and is really something that caught me off guard the first time I wore it. I have stopped wearing a pullover with the jacket now (and it fits a bit better). For the warmer days I don't know yet but so far I must say it is bearable. In terms of looks, it looks the part, really well made and quite striking, however on second thought i think I would have bought the Black version. The quilting, the quality and the attention to detail is really top notch. That back pocket I most often forget is there and have not used it yet lol. The wax coating is not waxlike at all and you don't really feel it. The leather piping works great and the soft neck roll is a great addition. A flaw one must take notice of is, the inside left breast pocket. When you have the outlast liner installed. The liner has a cut out for the pocket, but the liner it self does not have a pocket. The pocket is in the jacket liner. and thats not the same on the right, on the right the outlast liner has a pocket. So I put my phone into my right pocket and then put some papers into my left pocket. Only for them to fall out about 5 seconds later, this happened to me twice and then I figured out what the problem was. I had to reach through the outlast liner undo the velcro patch on the jacket liner and then the papers was safe in the jacket pocket. Right side easy, unbutton brass button and slip the phone into the outlast liner pocket which is even trimmed with leather. Lucky I was still at home when the papers fell out. Guess thats it, maybe a few more colour options ? Navy blue or Beige ? the Olive could pass for a Brown but then again probably not. All in all i think this is a great jacket well thought out and worth the money. Ride Safe !

The jacket meets the description perfectly, it fits nicely and is sturdy with its safety features without looking bulky. It’s perfect for a winter drive in the French Alps!

This is exactly what I wanted. A wax jacket generous in the shoulders but not too bulky around the middle, with very high quality fittings and an excellent alternative to my leather jacket. Feels excellent to the touch and is a high quality item. The sizing video is spot on - I am 6'1 with a 39-40ish chest and an S fits me with a shirt/long sleeve T underneath like it was made for me bespoke. You could wear this jacket with a light sweater underneath and it makes for the ideal autumn/winter/cool day item.

Perfect riding jacket. I love the looks and style of it. Makes you look very cool. It is also very sturdy and comfortable at the same time. As shown in the video, the fit needs to be one size smaller - I'm 6 ft 1 and the M fits perfectly. It holds the cold and wind very well. I haven't used it in the rain or summer yet, but from the other reviews I've seen, it seems it will be a great all-year-round jacket (the reason why I purchased it).

Material and fittings all have a high quality feel to them, this jacket will last for years. Color was darker then expected, upon first opening the box my I thought I was sent a black jacket. Fit is pretty good, a bit bulky around the waist for me. I'm 5'11, 220lbs with a 47in chest and broad shoulders. Using the size chart the XXL is what I ordered. Perfect fit at chest and shoulders, arms were perfect length (sleeve ending at bottom of wrist), a bit baggy around the waist but that can be cinched up with the internal cords. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I am 6’1” and about 75kg so I purchased a small and it fits perfectly. It is a snug fit which is my taste. Merlin’s quality is apparent throughout. The finishing is beautiful and the components such as the buttons and leather trim are stunning. Retro styling with modern protection has made this my go to jacket when hopping on my bike. It’s very warm with the fleece liner, totally windproof. As always the order was here in no time. Great for an impatient Londoner like me!
