“How would I describe the Edale jacket in a word "Brilliant" the fit and features of this jacket are perfect and the fact it's AA rated gives extra piece of mind should you have a tumble it's kept me nice and warm with just a t-shirt on when the temperature has been quite low and best of all it's a British brand with Scottish made fabric”

“Not done a huge number of miles with it but so far very impressed. Beautifully made and very comfortable. Not tested it's waterproof capability yet but I suspect that it will perform well. Very pleased with my purchase.”

“This jacket looks great. I sized down as a lot of the reviews suggested that the fit was a little on the larger size. It is a snug fit but the quality is very good, especially considering the price point. Ventilation is good and the removable thermal liner is a great option. The D30 armour is very slim, meaning it can also be worn as a casual jacket too. My only gripe is that it did not come with the back protector. I tried one on which had the protector inserted so naturally assumed it came included. Would recommend this jacket.”

“Quality of the jacket is excellent. Nice and warm with the liner. Needed to size up but unfortunately there were none left in the size however Urban Rider made it nice and easy to exchange for the Perton which has similar features just a bit shorter.”

“I’ve been riding wearing Merlin gear for the past 5 years. When the time came to upgrade my old Yoxall I chose Edale, which is basically the same jacket but made with this new Cotec fabric. And what a difference it makes! The jacket is much lighter, more supple and not as waxy as the regular waxed cotton my old Yoxall was made with. Plus the D3O protection is so much more comfortable. The Reissa membrane never failed me before, updated liner feels great and the style and details are top notch (I love that little pocket at the back!). Zipped vents are another great and useful feature (I’d try Kurkbury if it only had those). So why only 4 stars? Well I had to return the jacket due to quality issues. I believe Merlin does a great job overall but this time the jacket despite being a wonderful piece of garment was badly sewn with a sleeve liner all twisted up in a way that prevented me from putting my arm in. There were also some other stitching issues indicating that it shouldn’t go theough the quality control. I ordered two sizes - M and L to check if I should go up this time and yes, if everything was right I’d probably keep the large one. Medium was perfect though, just a bit too tight - had exactly the same dimensions as my old Yoxall in size S. As to Urban Rider - impeccable service, like always!”

“Had first real rain test today and passed - it dried out in a couple of hours. Have it a year now and it is the best value jacket I have left my leather and laminate untouched since I got this - I got a the small even though I normally take a medium and it fits perfectly Buying process was also first class Happy to recommend the brand and the shop”
