“The cut and Quality of the wood is superb. The install using the pins is quite challenging as when you tighten the bolts because they are off centre they span the bolt in the wall plug. The beam is very heavy so I used lots of Trade level bond stuff, little too though don’t put much in the bolt holes in the wood as it prevents the pins going in, I forced them in but the bond forced through joints. Overall really happy with the quality, service, instructions, and delivery.”

“The Mantel is of good quality and arrived well packaged. My.only gripe is that the mantel was sold as 3" deep whereas it was only 2.5" deep, which was rather disappointing,”

Hello Martin, Thank you for the review. We are glad you think the beam was good quality and well packaged. We are disappointed to hear that you were not fully satisfied with the beam size and have given us 3 stars due to this matter as it states in the beam description under 'important' that due to machining and sanding beams are typically up to 1/2″ smaller than the size stated. Hope this clears things up.
