“Our first order of this excellent product after using other reconstituted softwood blocks which always make a mess and burn far less hot and much quicker. The delivery was very prompt and well protected from rain and damp. There were only a few blocks that were a little coarser than the vast majority and they still burn well. The breaks are very compact and yet light quickly. They last far longer than softwood ones and produce more heat. I can’t recommend them highly enough and shall order more for the Autumn. “They are great. Only thing that didnt give 5 stars is that some of them are made with coarser woodchip rather than sawdust and those ones without a binder make a mess just picking them up as they fall apart everywhere. Those ones also burn much quicker. I'd say 40% are like that. This is our first order experience.”

We’re sorry to hear that some of the briquettes were more brittle and broke apart more easily. As they’re made from natural materials, some variation in texture and density can occur, which can affect how they handle and burn. “Briquettes are great but having them dropped kerbside in pouring rain and non waterproof bag is a real problem. A lot of the bricks turned back into sawdust. I think a small increase in price on rerun for better packaging would be a good idea. Or at least an option.”

Hi Simon, Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear the briquettes themselves were great, but we’re very sorry to hear about the issues with the delivery. Just to clarify, our delivery service is kerbside only, and the briquettes are wrapped in waterproof packaging. As with any natural fuel, they do need to be moved to a sheltered area upon delivery to prevent damage from the weather. We appreciate your suggestion regarding packaging and will keep it in mind as we look at ways to improve the delivery experience. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts.

“In common with the oak brickettes we have bought previously these are also very sensitive to moisture. Sadly during transit the bag they were contained was damaged at some point and allowed some water in so some of the blocks had crumbled slightly but around 90% were useable. They do burn well producing plenty of heat and are easy to light.”

“Good value for money the Briquettes burn at different rates but are generally long lasting. They give off a lot of heat and smell incredibly nice. Ordering and delivery was an easy and efficient process. Would recommend these Briquettes to others.”
