“This was a great little Christmas present to myself! Easy to assemble and disassemble thanks to its friction fit connectors, and no soldering required. Just some side cutters are needed to break away the tabs that the hold the tree sections in their frame.
Software setup was pretty quick too, only stumping me for a moment until I figured out which extra python packages were needed to get the example programs working.
I like the use of APA102s for the LEDs too, as it leaves many of the PIs pins free for other HATs, and makes hooking the tree up to Arduino with FastLED a breeze (as I did with my little Treebot, pictured)”
